Played Elder Scrolls Online beta a couple weeks ago and it looked great. Awesome graphics and a lot of ways to customize a character however you want with the many skill options. I can't wait for release and wondering if anyone has tried beta and/or plans on playing when it comes out.

I read you can't group with people unless you're the same exact level and in the same exact point in a particular series/saga.
That kinda blows.

A half-dozen boss Vaulties donated generously with real money to my classroom during a fundraiser in May 2015 to get poor kids books to read. I won't forget that. They know who they are, and they freaking rule.

Tried it a few months ago and really didn't enjoy it. I agree it looks great but it felt slow and clunky to me.
Still waiting on Wildstar...

I've played ESO and wasn't impressed, it looks pretty, but i found the game play stupidly boring. I'm not a big fan at all of Kill X mob quests.
Sadly with Wildstar the more I play it, the less I enjoy it.
So you want to know about an exploit?

I did not find very many kill X mob quests when I played in the most recent beta. Grouping with varied leveled people was not an issue however if they were doing a quest you have already done then it does not let you help them on the quest as the story had already progressed past that point in your world. I did have that issue with a friend while playing through the beta and I posted on the beta forums and in the survey I filled out after how it was an issue. Not sure what they will do about that particular issue however.
When running some dungeon areas if I grouped with people who were doing the quests you could just abandon the quest and then all start at the beginning and there were no issues. I do not believe level had anything to do with it. More an issue of how far you quest had progressed.

Personally I found the combat smooth even on highest graphic settings in all the PvE content.
Everyone complained about a lot of latency in the PvP area but hopefully that will be fixed by the time it goes live.
What about combat did u find clunky? I was playing a caster and had no problems kiting monsters and casting spells etc. Everything was pretty fast paced.

Done 5 beta's for ESO so far.
Graphics are really nice. Character customization is best Ive seen.
You level up skills; sword, mace, shield, magic schools, alchemy, smithy, etc. When they reach certain level, you can 'morph' them into improved versions and more.
Combat is a combination of active and click and use X,Y, Z. ability/spell to attack. Ranged combat with Bow left me wanting more.
Stealth; never found it useful
Crafting was pretty good - did some weapon/armor.
Grouping 4 person max. Good comparison would be KOTOR.
Think it was L17 that you could start PvP, never made it there.
Siege warfare, PvP. is where everything is at.
Game costs;
$60 or $80. Expensive one is limited and gets you Imperial, they can play any faction, unique crafting skill, horse.
Sub is $15 a month.

Honestly - I don't remember.
That's the impression I still get when I think about it. But the beta I tried was quite a while back.
Considering yours & several other posts in here I am tempted to give it another try

The combat pace is slower than ddo. This is because they've put in many enemy 'tells' with a short delay to allow you to react to it in lowbieland areas. My understanding is that the newbhelper goes away at level 15.
The combat system is live action, like ddo. I was a bit thrown off so far by not being able to use scenery or static objects to intercept a fireball launched at me for example. But I still like it quite a bit.
Being able to intterupt enemies while they are putting together their special attacks was pretty cool. Blocking holds a lot more meaning as well. It actually will determine whether you live through something if there isn't a healer type backing you up. Or whether you survive a boss attack with a healer type backing you up.
I didn't play PvP. I probably will eventually, but killing everyone around you isn't my sort of thing really. Likely to hit that after finishing the storyline quests for my faction. I've noticed that some of the hardcore pvp heads on other forums have mentioned that entering pvp zones before being prepared makes for poor partners and easy prey. There are already whales out there...

Combat was a lot of fun and very smooth. Didn't try stealth character was playing a caster. I did not notice anything choppy, but that may have been a client side issue for you klajsdhd. As far as cartoony I cannot disagree more. Compared to other games like Wildstar and even DDO it is about as far from cartoony as you could get IMO.
I prebought it and cannot wait for release personally. You can join up to 5 different guilds so that is nice if you want to have a smaller guild with friends and still join a larger one for grouping for PVE dungeons or the large PVP battles.
PVP starts at lvl 10. I tried it a little bit and using the siege engines like catipults, trebuchets and battering rams was pretty fun and I am not usually into PVP. I did notice some latency issues with the PVP stuff, but it was extremely large battles with 100s of players on both sides at the same time. Hopefully they can get that latency issue cleared up and I think it will have some of the best MMO PVP I have seen yet.
PVE content that I played was a lot of fun. There were quests for solo/group play, open dungeons where you would find other players to kill with and/or group with running around, and there are instanced dungeons for parties. They talked about having raid level content as well (raids are 24 players) but I have not seen any of it in the beta that I participated in.

If you decide to play Munk let me know what Alliance you end up in. I can make a character in that one so we can group up some. I played Aldmeri Dominion during the beta for the most part and enjoyed the storyline so will probably go with that to start unless a lot of my friends end up somewhere else.

I gave ESO a spin; it's just meh. There's absolutely nothing exciting about it that I saw. I can't see how it won't fail/go F2P (same thing) within a year.

Sadly that will not happen in Cryodill or during any pvp.
The fact you must buy the game, subscription and collectors edition to play one race is abhorrent to me.

tbh this really kills it for me....I pay a sub to DDO, but I don't want to pay a sub to a game I haven't even tried out.

I honestly like having it as a sub game so much more than if it was F2P. P2P games are of higher quality and the lack of a store makes it all about playing the game and not about what you bought from the store. $15 a month is not very much money and you do not have the pay the sub until after you have played for a month because the 1st month comes with purchase of the program.

I found this video to be quite interesting regarding the dev team there responding to player feedback in the beta.
Every beta has had these types of changes, but this is the largest amount yet. And proof positive that the devs are listening to their playerbase. Very refreshing...
