Yeah - it's going to get pretty interesting now, considering that "don't kill spiders" instructions are kinda hard to follow for most folks.

This is probably the only quest in game that I completely loathe. The only way I've been running it is to do the jump trick.. or potentially have someone else do it. I'm awful at targetting and I get bored, so when ever I've tried to play nice and not kill spiders, I kill one and then nuke the hell out of them so the quest fails. lol.

No.

All they did was place an invisible wall over a pile of rock.

If they had time to make a freakin' invisible wall, they might have been able to fix the disappearing gear/items from inventory/tr cache/shared banks/bags instead.

It just bugs me that putting an invisible wall over a pile of rock that has been there for ages is higher in the priority list than known issues/bugs that fuck up gameplay.

~Acid Sorc realizes its safe to bombard the fuck out of everything, because the spiders are smart enough to be immune to acid

I fail to see the issue of not killing spiders.. enlighten me?

This is the major problem with most folks.

Mobs seen must kill rawr rawr rawrgh!

Not enough int to accomplish quest objectives.

When people are too retarded to read objectives, there's always soloing. What I usually end up doing for dust and a few others, like cursed crypt.

True. In the case of Sleeping Dust, I only see all 3 end chests (the main chest + 1 for all hallways cleared, +1 for no spiders killed) if I solo it, or if I have the rest of the party pike while I solo it.

A few people in said piking party commented that they have never heard of not killing spiders before. Wtf. The objective is right there. Reading has become a dumped skill.

There is another spot, it requires actual skill/luck. By that I mean it is just harder then the spot everyone knows about. There is more then just the shrine ledge....

Thurdbine gives, Thurdbine takes.

The feature in Dust is now gone (at least partially anyway), but the feature in New Invasion is back.

I am seriously wondering:

How weirdly programmed ddo is? I mean, how can they restore something from the content they havent even touched?

I did this 3 months ago in a pug.  When the journal wasn't in the first 2 spots the discussion was to restart or to do it legit.  Problem was only me and leader knew how to do it legit.  You can solo the damn thing with precise control of Larafey.

You can blame this on ML but there was a reason why.  The devs in prep for the xp passes wanted to know which quests had questionable ways to skip.  It was a fair request.  They didn't want to add xp to quests that were being skipped.  Maze and Dust is all I can remember being put on the to fix list even though those weren't on the xp increase list.

Considering the total xp changes we came out way ahead.  I can do daily Mirror runs for either heroic or epic to make up for 10 more minutes in dust once a life let alone all other xp bonuses.

Really?

They really did rate "fixing" those shortcut-available quests above the thousands of other bugs in the game?

I have a very hard time not killing spiders when I'm on a melee.  Even on a TWF melee, there is enough movement that a spider gets in the way of an ogre.

I may need TehTroll's course.

Invis yourself, run around so that the spiders (and only the spiders) follow you. Run to the ogres, whack em to death before the spiders catch up to you. Rinse and repeat.

I use scrolls and runestones to help me with this on my melee lives. Bard life was awesome as I just FoDed ogres.

This was similar to my comment too. But some ppl have commented that doing those fixes prolly took the devs like 1 min, while bug fixes require a lot more time.
