Would LOVE to hear an explanation/reasoning/rationale behind it though!
Yeah, and that applies to just about every decision Turdbin makes. But that will never happen.
It's like a Dilbert when the pointy haired guy gives an explanation and then says something like "Oh, that didn't sound so good when I said it out loud".
DDO would be vastly better if the devs were not allowed to make a change they couldn't justify to the satisfaction of the majority of the players.
EDIT: Maj, if a better game isn't enough justification for you, here's another.
When you give us the arrogant "you wouldn't understand" or "you don't really know what you'd enjoy", and your change falls flat on it's face, we rub your nose in it. We may even hope it fails because people hate smug jerks and want to see them squirm.
On the other hand, if you come to us beforehand and we are partners in the endeavor, we want to see it succeed and if it fails we are much more understanding and offer fixes instead of jeers.
And while the Players Council may be a step in the right direction, it isn't enough. The players in general don't feel enough of a connection with the council, or see enough of their work, to gain a sense of investment from the council's input (if any) to your process. Don't abandon the council, but don't think they are enough, either.
