Big self healing that can't be interrupted without taking quicken is so much better then scoll healing or cocoon.

Cocoon & all other SLA's aren't subject to concentration checks, ergo, they can't be interrupted.

Afair cocoon can get interrupted if you lose +150 hp buff too quickly.

I've also given some thought about this nerfing issue.

Some classes are OP, so they need to be nerfed. But they may still have some advantages after a slight nerf. It's better to completely nerf those classes out of existence.

Spells/ranged attackes are give too much advantage over melee. So, it will be better to nerf/remove them as well.

There are too many weapon/item choices. Better to berf them too as 1-2 are enough for playing the game.

Crafting is too complicating/tiring, so nerf it too.

Some people complain about game slowing down, it may be about graphics, so nerf the graphics.

Quiet a few players mute the sounds so it means that we can nerf the sounds/music (I can even hear some say; What? There is music in the game?).

Finally, a multi player platform is making things complicated. So, nerf it.

Let's see what we have got.
Oh wait. It seems, there already is a game like that.

Let them keep the damned thing, un-nerfed!

Seriously. I don't play bladeforged. I bear them no grudge for being able to heal themselves innately.

Halflings could always take the ability to give them the Heal - without using SP for that matter.

What sort of idiots would want BF toons to NOT heal themselves? Sheesh. The depths of depravity that some folks dive into.

Halfling ability is weaksauce. Feats and deep plunge into racial tree that isnt the greatest. And feats, I mean...   And then still recon sla for 25 sp>>8 uses per shrine of dragonmarks.

I don't think any classes/races need to be nerfed. I think they need to start taking a look at what causes those classes/races to be so far ahead and start implementing abilities on the same level.

The problem isn't that Bladeforged can cast Recon. It's that other races can't be as self sufficient without tons of work and class help.

I don't think a bandaid and a hammer are the trick here. I think some creative game design is needed to make other classes and races as appealing.

The only thing they need to do is to shorten the timer of Gold Seal Sov Heal pots and make them available at vendors, not effing store bought.

There, balance achieved.

I think it could have been great balance if all Fleshy Iconics received a HEAL sla in racial tree in addition to BF.

I have suggested that before but was shut down. I think it may have been at a time that WF were at a low and BF needed to look special but it is funny to see how it's now considered OP just because of a Healing SLA.

Personally, game would be more fun if FvS and Clerics didn't have this expectation on keeping people alive and could play the game. Being able to self heal does not make a player indestructible so self healing has never been OP for me. I probably expect players to heal them selves more than I do the healer.

Fuck you, halflings are awesome!

I still don't understand why folks think that a non-divine class that can heal itself is too OP. I've played with BF toons a lot. The have recon, and I have my awesome playstyle. I pick up their soulstones afterwards.

Just because they have a recon SLA doesn't make them invulnerable to damage. Becoming soulstones makes them invulnerable to damage. And playstyle >>>>> everything else. Unless you're Shade.

This. All the great players I know were great before BF came along.

And all the crap players are still crap even when playing BF with recon  Wink

DDO is a bit like the jump room in the Deathwyrm raid.

There are some people that can work out the jump room by looking at it.
There are some people that can work out how to do the jump room after watching someone else do it.
There are a lot of people that need to stand in a laser and die, then be carried through the jump room.

Rebalancing melee is simple, encourage healers to heal instead of casting / dpsing - an increase to ameliorating strike and more similar abilities would work here. Then there wouldn't any need to self Reconstruct, and people wouldn't be encouraged to kite with archers so much so they don't get 1 shotted. If barbs didn't die every three seconds, then people would actually play them and then they would be "OP". Because that is what is being talked about in that thread - builds that don't chain die being OP.

Bladeforged is better for almost every class than any other race is. It's only fine if other races get heal sla for 30 sp in their racial tree for 11 aps. There is no reason to go other races from a power prespective.

It baffles me when people have trouble figuring out the jump. I mean, just equip FF, cast or pot Jump/GH/Rage/Haste and move your way up. Done. No need for wings either...

But then again, I played games like Prince of Persia and Assassin's Creed religiously, so that might affect individual's Mario skills  Cheesy

So... you ARE Shade.

The recon SLA is the only reason folks play BF. Without that, BFs are nothing but shiny warforged.

From a power perspective, most classes benefit from being bladeforged? Let's see, shall we. Bladeforged is good at: being monks, monk fighters, monk paladin fighters, monk ranger archers, monk ranger paladin archers, monk ranger fighter archers, sorcs, sorc paladins, sorc paladin monks. Broken down, that's 1) monk, 2) fighters, 3) paladins, 4) rangers, 5)sorcs. 5 classes is not "most classes." And even then, those classes would benefit from being BF *only* if their builds allow it.

Bladeforged are not overpowered. They can live better with recon, sure. But not overpowered.

The problem is that *others* suck. And whine a lot.

No.

We all know that *you* suck though. And that you whine a lot. Some of your fellatio clientele finds that the combination of your sucking and whining is an attractive feature. I suggest that you find and treasure those customers of yours.
