Hey Flav.

Who is Severlin - not heard of him before on DDO?
Is he new or internal tfr?

He is a Dev...
From what I've been able to guess, he is the dev in charge of the Melee Classes and of the system changes around melee.
Now this is a WAG ( Wild Assed Guess ) since from my experience with DDO Devs things tend to be blurry when it comes to responsibility domains.

He seems to be a transfer from some other Turbine game or a new hired Dev... Since when he first appeared in the PC forum he didn't have that nice Yellow Dev Color nor the Turbine Logo.

There seems to be a producer named Severlin in Asheron's Call.

I wonder if that is a promotion or a demotion.

Hell ya! It was some of the fastest xp in game. For the most part it was 5 min zergs. Sadly, making them epic wont bring back old players since most of us vets back then could(and did) zerg them half asleep, underlevel, undergeared, while watching tv and/or chatting on voice chats.

Skiver was sweetness, but so were the deathnips.

It was, and it was a nice secret because back then it was like 90% of the community were afraid of dealing with hordes of undead. It was amazing. The only people you ran with were knowledgeable vets, everybody zerged, and yes - while asleep half the time.

So U24 maybe for epic Orchard.

rumor has it that epic Vale is coming shortly (as in 2015) - as soon as they decide some stuff. (And am being serious here, not THAT so serious, but serious)

I honestly believe that the whole 'epic vs heroic' as well as 'difficulty levels' should be completely scrapped and exchanged for a challenge style window, in which you can choose to play ANY dungeon on ANY CR from 1 to 35. If they are feeling real slick, they can add features to dungeons that are not enabled unless all players are a few levels under the quest CR, and XP bonuses based upon this as well.

Well It was almost a tie between Vale and Orchard... So it would seem logical...

Its like the inverse of the gryphons and harpies.

That time you chose between two shitty things.

This time you chose between two good things, and chose the shitter one.

The PC's track record is pretty amazing so far.

Epic deathnips.

Oh.

turbine changed auto-crit mechanics in an attempt to stop the masshold/heavy pick beatdowns about a year after they introduced epics. This change ruined thousands of 3xearth shroud picks and deathnips. Luckily we could fall back to the woowoo stick, until that too was nerfed...

Deathnips are still incredibly powerful in the hands of a character built to wield them.

In other news, as a result of epic Abbot, heroic Abbot's end reward list is broken.

Yes, if they did one from the ground-up, it would probably suck. If you make "normal" quests and find out what people like the most about it, you could epic-fy the good parts and improve the bad--- oh wait, this is Turbine... they would just get rid of the parts that people enjoy because they hate players: Players just don't know anything about games as much as a dev.  Wink

As Maj would probably say: You aren't a dev so you are doing it wrong. You have to play their way or you can't possibly enjoy it.

Actually, The monster they told us about ( as in what do you think of monster X in Epic Orchard ) got our stamp of approval.

We didn't have much choice for Gryphons and Harpies... It was a lose/lose situation.

Node : please note the singular for the orchard monster... we have been told about only one monster so far, this one is fitting in the context of the Orchard and there's even a background story for it to be there.
