You can get godly +3 tomes and awesome wraps in Hox, just make sure you have 2 healers, bard with augment summoning and good tank.
Globe of Invulnerability helps against the bees.
It can go to shit very fast though, those beholders are quite dangerous.

If ruin does not work, I'd say that tsunami will. I can't tell you post U22, but I did it the night before and both ruin and tsunami worked fine. Tsunami has been working since epic destinies came out. I don't see them changing it.
