So far TH weapons only provide fire, force and negative damage. Any new weapon system could cover the other elements - cold, sonic, acid, etc - but have similar/same base damage as TH weapons.

If they were creative, they could offer different procs or alternative buffs, like heal amp, imp. vorpal and disruption, etc. Like your point #2

Your #3 is the best way to go, but you know they are going to introduce yet another crafting system. That's just what DDO devs do.

U24 should be before Year End, expect a Lamania round soon, since we are talking cookies.
yes, barbarian and healing amplification will be there ( unless some unexpected issue shows up in Lamania )

U25, I expect it for March/April... maybe with LVL 30, I'm not certain of that.

U26 for June/July

U27 for October

U28 for 2015 Year End.


U25+ Date are WAGs, U24 Date is somewhat a leak...

Imho, DDO Tomb of Horrors would kinda suck.
It'd be like the portal puzzle in the Dracolich raid, except wrong portals are Discs of Annihilation.....and you're dead.   
Yay, endless Rez cake consumption.  Technically, there'd be nothing left to Rez tho....

Undermountain could be really cool if done right (bring back Ed G...).
It'd be a bit like Thunderholme, but good I guess.

You don't follow then.... Kookie as been giving Exquisite Greensteel to everybody around every other update on Lamania.

Basically, Vale was done in the Old Epic  way, it was activated by error once... for a few hours.

Since Old Epic Will Not Do, Turbine has to work on the whole thing.... It has been said numerous time by both Turbine and people around that Vale would get the Epic Treatment.
( and I've already written about the Epic Greensteel and Thunderforged Issue several month ago somewhere in The Vault )

When Turbine asked for what pack we wanted to see Epic ( that was long before the PC ) Vale came first, followed closely by Orchard.
So it's obvious that Vale will be made Epic at some time. Now think for a minute, would Vale be Vale without Greensteel Crafting ? Nope, Run content Once, Run Shroud Once, and then go back to farming the important things.... We Willingly Farmed Shroud for YEARS, without whining, without complaining... because of Greensteel.
It would be stupid not put put it in, especially if Maintenance Mode is not far away... it could be the make or brake system that push DDO for another year of update or send it down to maintenance mode.

It's not conceivable ( at least in my mind ) to give Vale the Epic Treatment without giving greensteel some kind of Epic Treatment.
( but well it's Turbine.... you never know )

This, that's why Sentient Weapons are not there yet too... they want to make something where TF + eGS + SW actually complement each other instead of competing....
It could be completely possible that Turbine ends up doing EGS items... but no eGS weapons, that way they remove the risk of eGS weapon competition against TF and SW.
