Looking for a new game

Im not into most MMOs because of their lack of player controlled character development. I like the complexities of Eve but dont like space games or I would go there. I know that no one has the control that DDO does but anything would be better than the bug riddled and maintenance poor game that DDO has become. Any suggestions?

DDO died a long time ago, we just all have trouble admitting it.

Haven't found it yet.  I love open world games (not first person shooters) but most of the loot tends to be random dungeon trash.  I'd love to find something where there was some challenge in finding and upgrading decent weapons/armors.

Turbine policy - glitches and poor coding resulting in interference of your game play or enjoyment will be ignored.  Glitches or poor coding on the developers side that at all benefit your game play or enjoyment will result in your character being banned and/or items from your inventory deleted.  Please report all bugs via our bug report...when it works.

The best control/combat in an MMO that I have seen is in TERA Online.  Which is now F2P if I remember correctly so it may be worth a try.  If it had the character building of DDO I would have never looked back when I went there.

I bought another month of ESO while I wait for the next dragon age to come out, which will hopefully keep me going until something else turns up.

"Science makes godlike -- it is all over with priests and gods when man becomes scientific. Moral: science is the forbidden as such -- it alone is forbidden. Science is the *first* sin, the *original* sin. *This alone is morality.* ``Thou shalt not know'' -- the rest follows."
