would like to build a thf character. 32 point
would you recommend a fighter or pal?.  i dont mind splashing but have no idea on stat allocation, skills to focus on, and feat order.
if pal thinking    16 str  14 con 16 cha
if fighter thinking max str max con

probably rolling human
any suggestions?

Modiy for human, take empower heal and quicken and you are set.

Another option is to go elf, take dragonmark for displace and thus gain a valuable source of extra defense

Check out my build that Lelo linked.

As for skills: Heal, Spot, Balance, and Intim are all good, but you won't have enough points to take all of them. I would prioritize them in that order after 1 point in tumble.

Don't bother putting any points in Jump. It caps at 40.

I'm addicted to invis scrolls, myself, although spell failure is getting irritating on this heavy armour life I'm in.

UMD is probably the best skill in the game, but I wouldn't recommend it for a beginner-friendly build. I have enough clickies for when I run this kind of character. I recommend farming Nyoko's Necklace if you don't have any clickies.
