from what ive read in snippets from devs and ex employees over the years.  cannith crafting was derp coded from its inception adding stuff or updating it into relavence would require them to underp the coding somehow or rewrite everything...which is never going to happen..not enough gains for the effort was their descion iirc

Yeah, but then it got updated to make trap parts and vials no longer count as essences. So we know at least part of what they said was bullshit.

But honestly, of course it was derp coded. Derp is Turbine's proprietary code.

That was a truly astounding change.
That bypass had existed for years and what was actually what made it feasible to still use Cannith Crafting.

For all those naive idiots thinking "but, but....Turdbine is trying to improve the game" - explain that manoeuvre!  How exactly did that "fix" improve the game for players?

They patched a minor exploit that had existed for years in a mostly dead crafting system.  WTF?
Someone bothered to take the time to crack open that old system and close that loophole, but not fix any of the glaring friggin problems with it or even update it.  Bet someone got some PacMan LARP time for that stellar effort.

That DID throw me for a loop when i found that out. I had originally worked a single character to triple 150 and have always enjoyed the results... but last year I decided to give another character the knowledge, and grind out another Triple 150.. and couldn't get the vials to work.

I thought there was a step I was forgetting and was doing something wrong  Cry

I want to see the seperation between bound and unbound shards to cease existing.

I want to see wondrous craftsmanship shard.

I want to see festival effects work with cannith crafting.

The problem with turbine is they try to do everything at once instead of baby steps. And end up jumping into the ocean and drowning.

lol. No, the problem with Turbine is they are a shitty hellhole of a company. The one motivation any of their employees has is to build their resumes. Fixing, updating, or improving past systems doesn't build resumes.

They scrapped it because they felt it made crafting too cheap/easy. But they stated they knew it was popular and were considering returning it Soon.
