Legendary Dreadnought
Barbarian:
great axe = 17-20x3+2 (+10)
maul = 16-20x3 (+10)
falchion = 13-20x2 (+8)
Paladin:
great axe = 18-20x4+2 (+11)
maul = 17-20x4 (+12)
falchion = 14-20x3 (+14)
Divine Crusader
Barbarian:
great axe = 16-20x3 (+10)
maul = 16-20x3 (+10)
falchion = 12-20x2 (+9)
[tr]
Paladin:
great axe = 17-20x4 (+12)
maul 17-20x4 (+12)
falchion = 13-20x3 (+16)
Some assumptions: Weapons are measured in average added iterations of critical damage over 20 swings. Differences in base damage (e.g. 2d4 vs d12) are insignificant compared to even a single iteration of damage. If added iterations are equal, wider critical range trumps higher base damage.
Also assumes that all Barbarians take Critical Rage, and all Paladins have Holy Sword.

The maul is actually tied with the Great axe for barbs in Divine crusader, so on crit profile, it's always maul for Barb and Falchion for Pally. Other weapon factors not withstanding.

Is eRiftmaker that bad for a weapon that it's not worth considering for end game? Will it make a comeback for Legendary content where Mortal Fear is nerfed?

That's why I said "Weapon factors not withstanding". The above compares otherwise identical weapons, such as TF weapons or Green Steel weapons.
eRiftmaker brings x4 multiplier, 6 MP, 6.5 Force damage per hit, 36 force damage per crit, 14 bane damage per hit, 80 slash damage on crit, plus the banishing on vorpal effect for outsiders.
That's a lot of benefit. And it's not being nerfed.

Yes, the crit profile is equal. I highlighted axe because d12 beats d10 when everything else is equal. I guess I wouldn't waste mats on an axe if you already have a TF maul crafted though.

It is strong with that crit. Especially on a barb with crit rage and celestial champion. It is worth using if you don't have TF...still not something I'd build for. The problem is that Mortal Fear still beats even ESoS on redname damage (so no %50 procs) until you have the equivalent of a 220 Str score in crit multiplied damage.
When MF is nerfed the best weapon will be a different T3 TF weapon,...unless epic green steel is out by then (and better ofc).
