To the OP... I have 10 toons on multiple TRs, not one PLIS between them. Grab a Silver Flame token, do three casual runs through Cursed Crypt and make it a ten charge Talisman. I've never needed more for Beholders and its way less of a soul crushing grind.

The Silver Flame Nugget itself presents itself with a few issues as well:

• Not sure how it would interact with antimagic, if at all. SF Nugget has "Negative Energy Absorption" rather than "Spell Absorption"; one of the main draws to PLIS is that spell absorption seems to cancel out Antimagic as long as it lasts, though I don't know how Negative Energy Absorp would interact with it, if at all
• Beholders take out several charges of PLIS at once, so I'd be worried about the 10 charges depleting rather quickly
• Another minor thing: it's ML 11, and there are at least two quests off the top of my mind that I like to do at level 10 which have beholders: Korromar and Prisoner

I'm also hesitant to rely on Jeweled Cloaks because when I run through Jungles of Khyber on my main, for instance, many times I'm left with 15 or so charges left on my PLIS, and PLIS has 50 charges... I'd be afraid that Jeweled Cloak just wouldn't last.

My recollection was that Ioun Stones used to have a chance of dropping on 1st and 2nd completions as well. Meaning that you'd overall get more Ioun Stones per 3 completions. Isn't that how it used to be?

I don't get why Turbine keeps old grind in the game.  To my thinking, the toughest grind should be the current end game.  The rest should only get easier over time.  I applaud things like:

VON flagging can be done in any order and does not need to be redone.  Same with DQ.  The Litany piece drop rate is increased and available in the slayer rare chests.  Same with Tome and Shield fragments. 

They should periodically lessen the grind on old content.  Making anything from 2011 more difficult to get than it was 2 or 3 years ago is stupid.  They should make it really easy to get ioun stones from DD.  As mentioned in another thread, Dragontouched Armor should be easier to obtain now days.  Seal/Shards should have a barter vendor (like the DQ scrolls vendor).  It is silly that it is harder to make an Epic Marilith Chain than it is make Red/Blue/White/Black dragon armor or ToEE Armor or Thunderforged Armor.
