But the tard is back and he looks upset with all info about the nextp update.
Not sure if he's a gay forum pally, an incompetent dev, Cordomoron, or just a retarded kid with a lot of free time.
Yeah, he doesn't quite fit any of them, and understanding why he's here would help us make it less satisfying for him. Ideally we could reduce the reward to the point where he left permanently, but even if he just spent more of his time elsewhere it would be a big improvement.
I'm pretty sure it's not a dev, if they cared enough about the game to invest the hours spent here, they could have spent them learning the game and communicating with customers and gotten way more bang for the buck. Maybe a fired dev, but then why not go after Turdbin more. And the potential for serious consequences would also deter an employee, even an ex one, from posting the stuff he said here.
I have a hard time imagining a Forum Paladin would want to invest the kind of time spent here too. They are at home on the mainboard, The Vault is a lonely place for them. They don't really care what we think, and the people they want to impress don't come here. A couple of weeks raising hell, fine, but not this long. Unless they have a serious mental disorder, but while the person obviously has problems, they don't seem to be the kind that compel seeing this through to the end.
A random kid? Why here? Go for 4chan, or an official forum, or whatever, but a fan site for a dying game made by a 3rd rate studio? How many views will you get from that? What kind of rep will you get? No bored kid is going to settle on the vault.
So who? It has to be somebody with a reason or a link of some kind, that's the only way such a protracted effort makes sense. It also has to be somebody who more closely identifies with another account, so "who they are" can let the insults and fails wash off without sticking. It has to be "The real me is watching" not "this is me doing it".
So maybe somebody trying to establish a new account and wants reduced scruitiny? That was put forth in another thread though I forgot who said it, maybe you? It's probably worth extra scrutiny for any new users for a while. Not automatically assuming they are bad, but just watching out.
It could also be an existing vaultie who feels slighted or just spiteful. If that's the case we're proabably in for a long and painful ride, they would primarily identify with their original account and can enjoy the damage they cause because they know the people involved. I can't think of a more effective counter than completely ingnoring them, and that's very hard. That would also explain the uncharacteristic respect for Strake's authority, exposing server logs to inspection would put the primary identity in jeorpady, far worse than a ban for the sock.
