Pure Sorcerer - still viable?

Was thinking about doing a pure sorc life next, but am wondering if in the current climate of the game the class is even remotely viable. I know they rely heavily on SLAs, which is all well and good, but at the higher-end content can you even deal enough damage to be relevant?

I actually did a shiradi already and wasn't very good at it. Its a solid build, I just couldn't seem to make it work. Might be a bit easier these days with new Cannith Crafting.

The thing I didn't enjoy about shiradi was the deep-splash. It didn't give me access to the higher-level spells; which I am aware aren't particularly good, but I still really enjoy having them.

I was toying with making some sort of crazy acid-master, Earth Savant with a lot of acid spells. Not too many things are immune to acid.

I did 16Sorc/3FvS/1Wiz

Draconic is his ED. Fire-specced.

It's pretty effective.

6.5k ranged / magic damage is nothing to sneeze at. They are definitely viable.
I'd reccomend focusing on your caster levels and going air or fire. The other two have always been shit. I would not reccomend it in LE shroud but its great everywhere else. Enchant sorcs are good for LE shroud. Wings are excellent.

Above has no spell pen and was used soley for farming Slavers.
30k ebursts
7k forking lightning bolts
Magister is the destiny. [3 evocation caster levels / twist 3 from draconic / -15 reflex save debuff on bosses for 15 dcs to help your spells land]

not bad shit.

Am running a necro-lock now for LE shroud and the 4 insta-kills are kingly.

Lotsa fun builds atm imo.
I took the sorc through TOEE and a shiradi is much better in there---combination of DCs and shrine-bonuses, but in Slavers I'm the king of the korn. Nothing plays like a well built sorc.

Yeah, am really tempted to go pure...

Actually, I'll be doing an ETR this life(really enjoying my current build) so I can get that third Shiradi EPL*have 2 currently) and make at least slightly better use of the shiradi style!
