I gotta say with the past lives new loot and the reaper pass is the grind a little overwhelming for most people?

i understand why endgame loot in an mmo like wow is so hard to get but an mmo like ddo is the underdog.. loot and xp should be somewhat pletifull?

Just once?  That's not much of a trade.  Or every time you dupe?

The grind is why I quit...twice (and this last time I think it took for good).

The problem isn't the grind. It's that the grind is all the game has left. Maybe that's to be expected out of this old of a game though for people that have played since the beginning or close to the beginning. I'm not sure how you reasonably add on significant content that makes people keep playing but NOT playing just to grind. And once you've seen one hamster wheel replaced with another multiple times if the only reason you're playing is to get OFF the hamster wheel and get to the end...well, that's when it's time to walk away.

I still think that for all its flaws DDO is a hell of a game. It's not a representation of the D&D rule set by any stretch but it's a fairly good compromise to computer real time action and mmo stat inflation. I'm sure most of us here would get the overwhelming amount of that credit to dev's and producers long since gone but that credit is doubly deserved since the game's held up this long, many times under dicey management.

Yes, there's no pay off for the grind.  I thought the idea was Reaper would be the pay off but it's not.  Just more grind.

The lack of new content and the shitty quality of the content that was new was what ultimately led me to drop my sub.
Making the same shit epic, legendary or reaper isnt new content.
Since update 22 i can count the number of new quests that i ENJOY on one hand. Thats almost 3 years of updates that were all rehashed shit or just plain shit.

Its not that the grind has gotten to be too high, its that too much of it relies on the RNG-gods, who are cruel, spiteful beings. Getting "the best gear" is now litterally like winning the lottery.

I'll never understand the propensity of people to brag about being good at a video game. Its a toy you play with for fun. The only person who should be proud of you is your mother. If you're 3.

Turdbin, keep changing the DDO rules, because McDonalds sold over 200 billion hamburgers by changing the recipe for their Special Sauce every couple of months to keep interest up.

No, it's that the grind has a turnover rate of "obsolete before acquired".
