I tend to see the fact that they are letting people buy the hearts with tokens pretty surprising, but it also may indicate that they are looking at ancillary sales in xp pots, timers, etc.. that makes it pretty easy for me to see them coming to the natural conclusion that they can sell AP tomes like hotcakes.
Seems unlikely IMHO.
It's more likely that they roll out two new races: another +STR and +WIS that will add the last two AP.
This way they can sell two new races, which I'm willing to wager are better sellers that tomes, plus all the various widgets that along with the TR grind.
Like you said, they're looking for the run-off sales... Pots, timers, maybe even Otto's Boxes. That's more likely to happen with more races keeping people on the treadmill.
I'm not convinced that stand alone buff tomes would be hot ticket items, unless I am in a demographic that is different from the norm (which is more than possible).
That and I am genuinely unconvinced that SSG could make AP tomes work properly.
So I'll keep the home fires burning for Kalashtar and Shifters... Although I don't hold out much hope.
