FvS build for heroics? (Read 1773 times)

	So I want to put 3 FvS lives on my caster currently a warlock (3x past lives:Sorc, Wiz, Clr, Mornlord, energy crit). I was going to go with 12fvs/6wiz/2pal bladeforged and bang out 3x colors too, but now with reaper, racial PL, and dragonborn I think epic levels are going to be a ghost town and everyone is going to be running heroics, so I figure at least 2 heroic TRs with FvS as the PL is a better way to go and then follow up with the last FvS life as above. I think I would prefer to go caster/nuker with enough hjeals to be viable for reaper, but I know nothing about favored soul except they can heal and get BB, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

	Istakills and heals should work well in reaper. Or you can go melee with sylvanis

Prolly just do 20 fvs evoker and swing carnifex in the lower levels and respec the proficiency feat for something else when casting takes over ... The problem with multis as I am seeing it, is delayed BB...

	Playing it as a melee and taking Power Attack -> Cleave -> Great Cleave, is probably the way to go. @ 12 grab maximize or quicken and move some AP around to become more of a caster. @ 4 grab a carnifex and soundburst @ 8 take holy smite. @ 9 order's wrath. @ 10 flame strike @ 11 divine punishment @ 12 bladebarrier @ 13 cometfall from there its smooth sailing they take a while to warm up. Honestly they're awful until lvl 8. Clerics have OP SLAs in heroics so they're better IMO as pure casters.

	Its wort mentioning again that while CHA determines SP and max spell levels (CHA required to cast spells > 10 + Spell level) the spell DCs are WIS based. Simple solution: Roll a Warforged FvS� and take Lord of Blades domain, which grants Greatsword proficiency. Even with the penalties to CHA and WIS you'll end up with around 2000 sp and a metric crap tonne of HP. Pummel your way throug heroics with melee and slightly gimped self heals. And theres plenty of decent greatswords, even at low levels. Nicked greatsword from Sharn or the Guardian's Daggger from Shan-to-Kor are good choices. Lootgen probably has even better stuff at lower levels now. Even Simpler Solution: Roll any kind of warlock, steamroll to 20, then use a +20 Lesser Heart to respec to FvS. TR immediately after. Otherwise, roll a Lizard and grind your teeth until you get Blade Barrier. FvS desperately needs a class pass,� nothing about it is fun to play right now. Edited: You can also achieve similar results by going Helf->Undying Court->Fighter Dilettante for proficiency in all Martial Melee Weapons. No� penalty CHA or WIS, Racial Hamp and SP, no gimped heals, and Undying Call (Raise Dead) at Lvl 6. Downside... Your toon is so ugly it's Mother can't stare at it in the Moonlight. Drunk.�

	Desperately ? That's quite a strong word. The class is uber in heroics and quite alright in epics. Caster that is. Not for newbs or Franlike tards tho. As for the build, basically what Foppy said. You'd want Maximize, Empower, Quicken and full respec to caster at 12. You can get by without cleaves if you don't wanna blow 4 Siberys shards.

If it requires a "full respec" to caster at 12, then it's not "Uber" at all. "Quite alright" isn't a glowing endorsement either. Especially since it's a p2p class. And before you argue it can be unlocked with Favour, it's not possible to earn enough Favour to unlock FvS without buying packs, so it's still p2p.* Also, it's one of the three classes, afaik, that only has 2 prestige trees (all of which are p2p classes, Business Fail). One of which is shared with Cleric. Needs a pass. You are welcome to disagree on this point. Maybe you are much better at squeezing the class for all it's worth than I am (More than likely, I am not a Hella Pro caster player). But when a f2p Cleric is a better, simpler option as a caster and even as a Melee... Yikes.� *Unless you're one of those freaks who grinds free Favour on every server to buy stuff.

	10 warlock/ 10 fvs, or 9 warlock/9fvs/2 barb. I'd go with 10 for tentacles if you are playing on reaper. Any of these 2 should be easier/faster than pure fvs caster or melee splash or pure. If you pretend to be a melee probably better start as fighter until 6 at least. Don't see the point of going WF. Be a human in any case. Or drow for that darkfire shit.
