Why are you investing so many points in Dex on a THF build?  So you can take dodge and mobility later?  On a heavy armor build?  I'm not really seeing the value in that.  Especially if it is a 1-20 only build.  Do people in heavy armor have AC problems 1-20 on a fighter with access to stalwart stance?  Seems I am constantly at a 75% or greater miss chance with my AC in heroics on my heavy armor THF/TWF.

Seems like more STR or more CON would work better.

Duh.  And why does a new player (or any player really) need dodge on a THF heavy armor fighter build?  That's the question.

I think he was trying to be true to the Kensai tree, which requires Dodge for two of its enhancements, and Dodge & Mobility together for one. The tree is crazy for Dodge.

Personally, I think that's a mistake. Yeah, a beginner's going to be confused/upset when they're unable to put points into Reed in the Wind & Dodge & Armor Mastery, but do you really want them to put points into Reed in the Wind & Dodge & Armor Mastery?

Not taking Dodge as a feat until lvl 15 is going to leave them confused anyway, unless Iconic.

Is it overkill? Maybe for normal. Eventually they are going to wander into elite though, and +8 dodge/+5 Max Dex, +3 AC, and +3 reflex is going to keep them alive longer than 15 hp, +1 fort, and 4 MP.

Keep in mind, no native healing, and probably 215 hp at level 15. (15*13+20) 260 if they manage to find a con 6 item. Dodge is only going to get more important/valuable as they level, especially if they go all the way to 30.

I wouldn't put skill points in intimidate. The last thing you want on this build with a new player is someone spamming intimidate and actually succeeding sometimes. Other than UMD not sure where I'd put them. But not there.

It's hard to melee something when it is chasing someone else. So much newbie drama is over kiting.

Never chase a monster that is being kited.

In the end it will come to you - either because the kiter will come to you, or will die and you will still be alive.

Explain that to the kiter.  Use small words to be sure that they understand.
