So, I stopped playing DDO after U22 (3 years ago), and I'm basically just returning now.  Back then I was able to dupe a few things to perfection (thunder-forged mats, for example), but not nearly everything that I wish I did.

I see that Cannith Crafting is now quite nice, but I only have enough things to make a few items, not to mention I'm not high enough level for the real good stuff.

Anyway, I ask for help in one of three ways:
  • If there is still a good way to dupe things, kindly let me know
  • If you have huge stacks of everything, kindly give me some
  • Kindly craft stuff for me

Thunderforged weapons are still quite useful in most epic content, but the game is mostly 1-20 right now.  Cannith crafting is the fastest way to get your gear up to snuff.  Leveling your cannith crafting is easy if you have cannith essences.  If you have a large quantity of the old essences from your previous game play, you can convert them into the new essences.  or trade for some.  But you don't need the other collectibles to level crafting.  It can be done in 30 minutes with enough essences and maybe a few hundred TP for success boosters and a single crafting XP elixir.  At that point, cannith crafting gets you 98% of the best possible gear in heroics and 95% of the best possible in epics. 

Then you can grind out some LGS, Slavers gear, or do some reaper XP and PL's for progression. 

P.S.  You do not need to cap your crafting, at all.  Getting your level to around 320 or so will give you the ability to make any ML Shard or effect shard you want for yourself.  You only need to go  higher if you want to craft for others

1) Not really, not like it was in the Heydey of Doopapolooza.
2) No. See #1 above.
3) No. Collectables are the new currency in DDO. Because of their use in crafting, they're too valuable to waste on charity. See Asheras' answer above.

The devs "fixing" duping has made misers of everyone.

There is a great thread from the forums that I keep bookmarked, and has been referenced here too, that helps with easy farming of collectibles.  Makes it wicked fast to get about everything except ornate Charms and a few others.
