Anyone tried this?
The reviews say the gaming is meh but the combat is "the best on the market." Not sure that's true, since DDO's is great, but going to try it out.

Seemed to have some interesting mechanics, but the hand-holding at the beginning bored me so much that I never logged back in.

Cant compare to ddo.
Bns is heavily ping/skill reliant.
Particulary in challenge dungeons tower of infinity and pvp 1 and 3s.
Outside of pvp the bg side of the game and pve is pretty much pick the op class and whale it with p2w gear.
I enjoy it troughly and am competetive in endgame.
Issue is you have less content then in ddo but more things to do.
Alas, alts are very viable in bns.

Thanks for the comments. I tried it and like Strake said, the beginning turned me off so much I uninstalled, hahaha.
Apparently ESO is better now, so going to try that in a bit.

Give Tera Rising a go, it also has pretty involved combat but appears to be a bit more mature as MMOs go, with a lot of content. I haven't played it much personally but it seems interesting.
Fuck ESO.
I'll never understand the propensity of people to brag about being good at a video game. Its a toy you play with for fun. The only person who should be proud of you is your mother. If you're 3.

hahaha, thanks. I may try that then.
I like my characters on ESO, they're nice to look at, but that's about it. I install, log in for 5 min, then uninstall every year or so.

God, has the game even been OUT that long? It feels like it was just released like 6 months ago... I remember following the development but when they announced they were going to have a focus around PvP I stopped listening. Been griefed enough, thank you.

It came out a few years ago - 2014? 2015? I can't quite recall. The youtube reviewers all say it's much better now. And they limited pvp to 2 areas I think. You actually would have to go to there to join pvp on purpose. So just questing around, you'd be fine.
I'll probably check it out again in a bit. It's much prettier than DDO and a much larger player base, but their grouping system sucks.

Good they at least improved that part.
Now did they manage to make it less dick-in-a-pencil-sharpener-grinding? That was the second major point against it

There were a few good quests, but most of them are the boring, generic MMO versions.
The ones I liked involved moral decisions with no easy answers. I think I ended up tearing a family apart because their son was a druggie. One of the options was kill him, the other was put him jail. Or let others kill him too I think. There was another that involved some kind of magical humanoid creature that was insane you had to put down. And the storyline itself was ok. The voice acting was great, but kinda slow.
Not toooooo many "go get 5 of these and 5 of those other things, thanks" but too many, lol

Well generic MMO quests aren't too bad, its when the advancement is slow that it's a problem. I think a fellow vaultie described grinding for four hours to find one piece of wood to make a book case for his house.

it's micro-transaction based. they sell character power in the store. but, is f2p, the early leveling play experience is well done. fast leveling, tutorials on skills and their applications, movement is easy. you never need to staple a mouse to your hand to move. there isnt any tab targeting, and the abilities/skills are kind of laid out for you. devs designed it that way. but movement is better than eso and the combat is too.

I don't think naming names would be a good thing for me to do, but I'd pretty much add anyone who's a know-it-all dick on the list. Even if they are sometimes intelligent with their opinions, the way they state them in long, "i'm a lawyer at trial"-type posts makes me want to punch them in the face. They act like whiney babies with god complexes and then freak out if someone so much as breathes criticism in their direction.
