Whats good to play these days?

I'm "shopping" for a new MMO, just cannot seem to will myself to keep grinding DDO.

I'd love to find something with DDO's multi-classing and reincarnation system but I know that's unlikely. Mostly I just want something open-world now. And fantasy, has to be fantasy, I don't have any interest in sci-fi mmos.

Any suggestions? Its been a while since I've looked around.

Am enjoying poe (pillars of eternity) and poe (path of exile) atm.
Both scratch a very different itch.
MMOs are dead for me atm besides path. If you haven't played WOW in ages it might be worth a revisit. There are some independent vanilla servers still. Total War: Warhammer 40k is a solid single player time dump.

Meh, don't like the perspectives on either of those POEs.

I am *tempted* to get back into WoW(thats the kind of perspective/interface I like). The problem is WoW has gone WAAAAY more PvP-centric than it was when I played, and it was way too fucking PvP centric-back then. I am mostly just not sure I'll find anything to enjoy in it.

The problem is my character is lvl 20 atm, I would have to grind out 6 or 7 epic levels before I can do that, and I just don't have the will for it. I am gonna buy an epic otto's box the next time they go on sale(which should be in like a week and a half).

Honestly what I have seen of ravenloft so far does not appeal to me much; am not a fan of the "dark, mysterious, hard to see" environments. Give me the nice bright Shroud any day.

You can run Ravenloft on normal at 20.

That being said, I've put a surprising amount of time into Minecraft recently.

But that would break my streak!

Being serious for a moment, though, I'm really just ready for something new. Or at least something to do until I can buy another otto's box and nope the fuck out of my current life Tongue

I built a 75-killometer long rail line. In survival mode. By hand. I've had enough minecraft for this life(I should record a video, it takes roughyl 2 hours to get from end-to-end).

I mean, that WOULD qualify as "more fun" than DDO...

Currently looking at Terra Rising, seems like it might do the trick.

Current WOW expansion has been good times. As far as the pvp goes, I'm on a pvp realm and there's not much open world pvp going on these days. In BFA (the next expansion 7ish months away) world PVP can be toggled off/on regardless of realm type while in a capital city.

Yeah see the gradual shift towards all things PvP is what made me quite WoW in the first place. The constant class nerfs because of PvP, the lack of development of non-PvP content, the list went on. Just not interesting to me. If a game even mentions PvP on it's main page it probably has too much PvP for my tastes.

I'm a seed investor on it and have it loaded currently. But being that its not quite out yet and not terribly polished...

It appears you are technically correct. It's still in open beta for three more weeks... even though that really doesn't mean anything. Besides... when is an MMO every really complete?

I had been under the impression it was still 6 months-1 year from completion; when I logged in a few weeks ago it did not look remotely polished. I might give it some actual time; after playing some I am not a huge fan though; don't much care for the whole "turn into a giant while walking between towns" thing.
