Well this would be a simple solution to implement them like "blank item" with sentient XP and use them like any other item you feed your gem with. How it will be implemented by SSG/Turbine is surprise. Possibilities are they implement it as barter window that has random chance to delete your existing filigrees or even whole weapon with hotfix patch comming next month that disables all functionality leaving all not used sentient XP gems as nonfunctional nondeletable trash in your inventory as side effect that also prevents you from taking TR
