People also pay hundreds of dollars there to reward a business model they believe in. I'm one of them. I don't really care about the cosmetics I get (though they do look awesome) much beyond the fact that they advertise that I love how GGG runs the game and I want to support them.

I used to give DDO money weather I needed the points or not, because I believed they would use my money to make the game better. I've since learned better, and intend to be as vocal in withholding my support from DDO as I am in offering it to PoE.

Until SSG stops being such dicks, the fanbois can support them, I'm giving my money to GGG.

I always love the players who say, "well I'm spending money in the store just so I can support the game I love." Honestly what kind of douchebags are they. I'm not saying you're one of them but you know who I'm talking about.  Those players who just want a pat on the back because they spent five bucks in the store.

Yeah, or the guys who try to convince you that you have some moral obligation to or you're a crook if you don't. I've met plenty of players who contribute to the game without spending money - leading raids, mentoring new players, whatever. I'm at a point in my life where I've got disposable income and can afford to spend it on games, but I acknowledge it's not the only way to contribute, and not even the best way to contribute, it's just a way that I can and choose to do. I also do crazy stuff like tip street musicians. It's my money and I'll spend it on what makes me happy.

Right now I'm helping the game by telling those teacup emperor devs at SSG that they have no clothes on, in the hopes that they'll put something real on before they catch their death of pneumonia. So far, though, they still think they're rock stars. The guys at GGG, I'm passing them "you rock" notes on the backs of Jacksons (Andrew, not Michael) because it makes me happy, no patting required.

Turdbin, keep changing the DDO rules, because McDonalds sold over 200 billion hamburgers by changing the recipe for their Special Sauce every couple of months to keep interest up.

This, i dont spend a dime in this shit show since 2010.

But i do lead a guild that did most of raids at higher difficulties on my server for the first time.

When most roles died and you just needed a monkcher or a shiradi to complete a raid most guilds died.

Now what we have are 3-4 soloist playing together, strategy and teamwork died completely.

Dear players,

The D&D rules you were familiar with were too simple to understand, so we're continuing our move away from them to needlessly confusing subsystems that will make your play experience less fun and invalidate old builds and loot. We hope you have fun working out what the fuck MRR, PRR, MP, SP, RP, CL, MCL and all the other bullshit we made up whilst drunk means.

Love,

People who don't know how to fix their own mistakes cleanly

Agreed, I don't think it was too much for you or players to expect after the long delay. The whole cynical attitude others like to posture with aside.
