Dinosaurs need to come in an expansion. If they come in a regular pack they will suck big time. In an expansion they have at least a chance not to be complete crap.

But this is a joke for a producer's letter. It lacks inspiration and motivation. No love whatsoever.

Severlin, LD and Masters Blitz the never ending drama  Grin Grin. Every dumbass knows he is going to nerf LD and EA again but calls it adjustment in the background.

That's cool, they fuck with Ed's, they gonna lose even more money. I haven't spent a dime in over a year and I don't do the favor BS grind for points either. Use to play daily, now that's backed up to an hour every few days (if my buds are on).

Yeah here's to hoping a ED pass isn't pure shit. With any luck EA, LD, US, and SD will remain the same while the rest are brought up to par.

Hopefully the dc's are modernized a bit and upper-tier abilities can be tweaked for usefulness. Removing the 'ranged' requirement of Shiradi stances and allowing the procs to scale with spellpower like EK toggles would be nice. Finding a way to improve FoTW without adding to the existing aggro issue would be good too.

I am going to guess that all newer content would follow 5e. Which means cavalier out. Really there are only a few base class options left:

Psions
Psychic Warrior (my hope)
Soul knife (another cool option)
Wilder

All the rest are PREs which would fall into enhancement choices not classes.

Also I second the race choice of Hill Dwarves, although a Rock Gnome would be pretty cool too.

While I'd love to see Shiradi opened up like that, I doubt they'd do it because Shiradi is toted as the one Ranged destiny. Just like EA is the one Caster. I mean sure Draconic and Magister exist; but Magister is a joke and Draconic hasn't scaled well with time.

Draconic is pure ass but Magister is easily the destiny of choice for wizards, which are still the best DC casters by a mile. Shiradi might be the one destiny aimed at ranged toons but it never worked out that way and hopefully they will make it a more generalist destiny instead of compounding the failure.

I've never felt that way  What is in the Level 5 and 6 enhancements or the cores that make Magister better than the cores and level 5/6 of EA for a DC Caster?  Sure there is a lot of Caster Levels, but none of that beats the +3 to all schools DC.

I've always felt the best parts of Magister were easily twistable.

Getting +6 to your caster stat negates the +3dc from EA. I'm not saying Magister is all out amazing but it's definitely light years better for a wizard than EA. Cooldown and SP cost reduction are nice as well.

EA is clearly the destiny for dc locks and sorcs though. But I don't really put any value in Wrath and would say Rebuke is the only thing it offers outside of dc's. Regardless, they both shit all over DI.

DI is a nuker destiny though. You can't compare DC destinies to Nukers and claim one is better than the other.

Absolutely can since nuking is only effective through low skulls. If playing casual destiny choice doesn't matter much. If not casual then DI has no place other than twisting Energy Burst.

+3 to all DC's in a free core vs. spending 12 of 24 ED AP to get a +6 to stat (for an equivalent +3 to all DC) is hardly and equal trade.

I've always felt that if the best use of your AP in a destiny is 6  stats, then it's a pretty crappy destiny.   The problem is that all the sigils and null magic crap are largely useless and that's half the destiny, right there.

Sure, EA is an imperfect fit for an INT based Arcane DC Caster.   Maybe I like wings a little too much on any caster, though.

That's just it though, both destinies are full of fluff for a dc wizard. What it comes down to is wings/wrath vs main stat spellpoints/caster levels/15% cooldown reduction/10% sp cost/auto diplo ability. At this point it's obvious that EA is a poor choice unless crutching on wings, which is also bad.

you're forgetting EA's heals and Rebuke
for a sorc that's very good

you can twist the cooldown reductions if you've got a boner for that

and on a wizard...
...how are you getting wings exactly?

It appears they decided AGAINST Isle of Dread or WOTC didn't let them do it.

With those old adventure modules it can be difficult as the rights can be muddled ( when they haven't reverted back to their creators )...
I don't know the status for B2 and X1 but it can be one of the reason... B2 has clear rights while X1 has muddled rights.

On the other hand maybe they decided to follow the logic and start with a B ( Basic ) adventure module before moving to an X ( Expert ) adventure module.
[ B2 was found in the red Basic box, X1 was found in the dark blue Expert Box, all the other boxes didn't have any adventure module ]
Lets hope they follow this and move on to a CM ( Companion ) , a M ( Master  ) and an IM ( Immortal ) adventure module at some point.

Probably budget and staffing constraints. Sev said on stream that the art required for isle is expansion worthy. Having said that dinosaurs should feel epic, and I agree.

Proper dinosaurs of STFU and GTFO. I will wait forever for them to not fuck dinosaurs up (a statement that works either way you choose to read it).

Update 44 will introduce our next new class as well! More information about what this class will be is under wraps for now, but we will have much more to share later this year.

Is it possible that Psion will finally see the light of day?

Personally, I am of mixed mind on new classes: Yes it's fun to play something new, but most of the extended class list in D&D were just slight variations on core classes.

Hexblade, Shaman, Runecaster, Truenamer... Even Sorcerer and FvS technically fall under this definition.

I'd rather they focused on what they have done reasonably well: Creating new races and Prestige Enhancement trees as opposed to whole knew classes.

The last time they introduced a new class (Warlock) it unhinged the entire game and it took literal years to re-balance the entire meta-structure to un-fuck the mess. You could argue it's still a steaming coil, just not as big or smelly.

But Falconry, Vistani Knife Fighter, Aasimar and (soon) Tiefling are pretty darn good and didn't unstitch the game at its seams when they launched.

I'd rather pay for Shifter (could be two separate races if they like) or a proper Weapon Master/Illusionist tree (as an example) than agonize because now I'm slotting Psi-Point Items and wondering if my Kineticist is better DPS than a Sorc in mid-skull Reapers (which I don't run anyway cuz fuck that noise).

Just my 2˘.  Wink

EA for sorcs and locks without question. I don't care about wings though, at least not on a wizard with all those sleeved tricks everywhere.

There are a crazy number of 3.5 base classes.

They should do Psion though.

What the hell are you talking about.   With the exception of a couple of systems TSR owned lock stock and barrel everything they published and WOTC even wrote a big check to Dave to cover TSR's transgressions against him.

From Drizzt to Greyhawk, with a few minor exceptions.   But most (if not all) of them are tied into stuff Gary did with Greyhawk by incorporating ideas and mechanics from other players into early editions.   And it is stuff like names of the Days of the Week in Greyhawk.
TSR did give up the rights to several characters created by Gary (Gord, Yarg and Zagyg) when they stripped everything else from him (Greyhawk and D&D).
