Probably budget and staffing constraints. Sev said on stream that the art required for isle is expansion worthy. Having said that dinosaurs should feel epic, and I agree.
Proper dinosaurs of STFU and GTFO. I will wait forever for them to not fuck dinosaurs up (a statement that works either way you choose to read it).

Update 44 will introduce our next new class as well! More information about what this class will be is under wraps for now, but we will have much more to share later this year.
Is it possible that Psion will finally see the light of day?
Personally, I am of mixed mind on new classes: Yes it's fun to play something new, but most of the extended class list in D&D were just slight variations on core classes.
Hexblade, Shaman, Runecaster, Truenamer... Even Sorcerer and FvS technically fall under this definition.
I'd rather they focused on what they have done reasonably well: Creating new races and Prestige Enhancement trees as opposed to whole knew classes.
The last time they introduced a new class (Warlock) it unhinged the entire game and it took literal years to re-balance the entire meta-structure to un-fuck the mess. You could argue it's still a steaming coil, just not as big or smelly.
But Falconry, Vistani Knife Fighter, Aasimar and (soon) Tiefling are pretty darn good and didn't unstitch the game at its seams when they launched.
I'd rather pay for Shifter (could be two separate races if they like) or a proper Weapon Master/Illusionist tree (as an example) than agonize because now I'm slotting Psi-Point Items and wondering if my Kineticist is better DPS than a Sorc in mid-skull Reapers (which I don't run anyway cuz fuck that noise).
Just my 2˘.
