False dichotomy.   You can do all of the above.   Mounts, Scroll Cases, Potion Cases, Components Pouches, Cosmetics Storage.   There are all kinds of QoL and convenience items that don't impact power but will be revenue generators.

I think I understand what Steel likes about the current balance from what he said.  I might be wrong, but what I'm hearing from him is, "Even if you suck at the game, every class has at least one straightforward build now that will let you solo on Hard and contribute to a party on Elite without shitting your pants half way through the quest. And the decent classes and builds are way ahead of the mediocre classes and builds, but the mediocre classes and builds are at least playable and we're counting that as a win."

And by that measure, I think he's on to something. Every class does have at least something to offer. Even Paladin is great in Heroic content from 12 to 18. Seriously, Paladin is a superstar in those levels. And if you ignore the fact that some builds with Inquisitive are just way higher than the rest of the field, he kind of has a point. Sort of.
