Tiefling worth it?

So now that certain opportunities are available to me, I'm contemplating converting my dragonborn sorc into a tiefling. I really hate the way tieflings look, but it also seems like they are just objectively the best fire sorcs in the game.

But is the improvement worthwile?

Dragonborn seems the better sorc to me. What's better about tiefling? I guess they get immunity stripping earlier. That's nice for heroic past lives.

the immunity stripping is faster/better. tiefling gets an AOE immunity stripping spell that also does damage. Regular sorc gets a single target slow-activation ability. Plus tiefling has a lot of racial bonuses to fire crit chance.

To be clear, I LIKE my dragonborn a lot more, but its hard not to see tiefling as objectively superior...

What? The awaken weakness thing? I've never used that. I'm blanking on which ability it is, (the capstone maybe?) but sorcs get a thing that makes any spell of that element into an immunity stripper. So when fighting immune mobs, you just lead with a low level AoE of your element and then nuke as per usual.

Correct. It’s the capstone. Prior to 20, you have to use the awaken weakness on immune mobs. (Or your secondary element...)

If you're a firesorc, you can just keep casting meteors.. The first one will strip immunity. The rest do damage. It freaked me out at first when I was shooting Golemns in House of Pain and seeing HEALS. But, it's only once. Then they get their faces melted like everything else. Sometimes I'll lead with an sla fireball to strip them. But, often I just meteor away... and lead the kill count..

Rumors of golems in House of Pain are greatly exaggerated.
