I'm gonna assume that Wayfinder is going to be down a bit longer than 12 hours, cuz they're giving this downtime a larger window than that abortion of a server migration they completely fucked up over several days last year.

If they're giving the least populated server (by far) this much time, I'm gonna assume that more populated servers like g-land, thelanis and orien are gonna be in for a treat...and by treat, I mean exactly the opposite of treat.

Well on the flip side we may be reading too much into this. If they really ARE just taking the servers down to do intensive backend database maintenance(which is a thing) then shutting down world transfers and 12ish h downtime is perfectly normal. If you read the thread fat jerry says "the same thing we did to LOTRO last year". Anyone play LOTRO and know whether or not there was maintenance done?

Hah, the server mergers part made me suspect it's to prevent them checking X server for dupes, then having people transfer to X before Y is checked

I know people tried that stuff in the past.

If there were some sort of duping method that involved server transfers, then I might be concerned. Since we all know that there is no duping method that involved server transfers and SSG has recently fixed all the other duping methods, I'm sure that this is just infrastructure changes to enhance our gameplay.

Oh I figured they'd only closed some of the methods not all. I mentioned the two things but meant them separately. I'm not aware of any server transfer dupe methods, just I found it odd they had to shut it down after upgrading Wayfinder.

Turbine policy - glitches and poor coding resulting in interference of your game play or enjoyment will be ignored.  Glitches or poor coding on the developers side that at all benefit your game play or enjoyment will result in your character being banned and/or items from your inventory deleted.  Please report all bugs via our bug report...when it works.

Hahahahahaha!  ssg did such a great job they managed to crash pretty much everything during primetime.  it's like they're clowns without a clown car...CUZ THEY JUST FUCKING CRASHED IT!!!!
