Quote:Ah my mistake I gave you the benefit of the doubt. Right you should go kill yourself and improve the planet.
I’m going to take a minute of my time and throw this out on the off-hand chance that you’re just a pussy and not a thin-skinned pussy AND and idiot.
When you look at belief, by all rights I’m at least 70% in line with the left, and yet I actively despise the left as much as I do the right. The reason for this is I see very little to distinguish between today’s left and the hypocritical conservative Christians of my youth. Just like them, instead of setting standards, examples and guidance they primarily opted for condescendence, judgement and condemning everything they didn’t understand or that wasn’t completely in-line with their world views.
And just like the equal and opposite reaction of the conservative Christians was a rise in atheism, most modern leftist do nothing but drive people out of the middle straight into the arms of the right.
Menthol cigarettes and grape soda. I can ramble off a hundred offensive and derogatory stereotypes off the top of my head (it’s easy, I grew up in the south) and what I opted for was menthol cigarettes and grape soda.
And for that you called me a Nazi and told me to take my life.
Not “that wasn’t cool,” not “do you think that’s appropriate with everything going on in the country right now.” You immediately classified me in the worst possible category and told me to kill myself.
And this is why the country is fucked. This whole “you’re either completely aligned to my outlook or you’re the greatest evil by default” mentality.
So let me ask you. You think you changed anyone’s mind? You think you recruited anyone to your side by judging instead of discussing the issue? You think your comment was so insightful and witty that some of our extreme to slightly less extreme right members are going to re-evaluate their choices?
How many from the middle did you pull towards your side with your comment? Or did you push a few slightly more to the right?
