Do you have a crafter? Easiest way to get workable gear after such a break is to craft it. Drop rates being bugged as they are you will go mad trying to complete a sharn set.

Have you tried R1 at all? R1 shouldn't be a whole heck of a lot harder than Elite.

Decent gear... Well... the endgame gear comes mainly from the Sharn and Feywild expansions. If you can only buy one of those, I like Sharn better. But, gear-wise, you'll be okayish with either.

After that long, your enhacement setup is probably bad/outdated and needs to be reset. You may have aready done that.

Sharn is helpful because both the heroic AND epic gear are solid. You can use the heroic sets from lvl 15-lvl29 (yes really). Then you can use the lvl 29 stuff from then on.

Let's start with your goals:

1. TR train doing past lives?
2. Endgame raids and reaper?
3. Both?

Either way, I think Sharn is helpful, but knowing your immediate goals will give us a better direction for advice.


In the current meta, twf rangers are solid (but not best per se). Bows? They are meh. There are several better ranged options including Crossbows, Double Handbows (via Inquis. tree), Throwing knives (yes really), and shuriken.

Do you prefer ranged, melee, dc caster, or nuker? All have solid options still. The best nukers were recently nerfed, but sorcs are still solid at the difficulties you're talking about.

Hey, thanks! I am not a big fan of casters, prefer ranged and melee. For now, I will probably focus on some reincarnations.

I will be getting one expansion, so Sharn is better then the other choices? I have everything up to Temple of elemental evil, my char used to be completionst (pre warlock).

When I reach epics, is it better to go bows with Shiradi or LD? Have all epic destinies maxxed

Best thing You can do with Your ranger is to click the red button on the right hand corner just above the "buy account upgrades" button.
When it asks, type the character's name in the field then click "delete".
Then find a different game after You uninstalled this pile of  "play the way I imagine - handwrap barb by Ruststar" shit.

You will thank me for this later.
