Since they had Monday off from the holiday, they were likely way to too busy squeezing in an extra day’s worth of half-assing to actually do a restart.

If you think about it: half of jerry's ass is still like 2.5 regular asses, so his half-assing is actually pretty efficient. Unfortunately he half-asses a completely unnecessary job.
