I still need to see the quote where they said all 4 items are equally weighted. I think they left that vague on purpose.
I'm not being vague on purpose. But sure. Since your search-fu seems to be shit, here's one of the 3 or 4 times it was mentioned:

The reason I said "go look it up for yourself" is because this little screenshot is part of the greater discussion. You can go read about it in this thread:
https://www.ddo.com/forums/showthread.php/513124-Spark-of-memory-drop-rate-is-la...But the same thing was confirmed multiple times across multiple drop-rate discussion threads. That said I would say that's pretty clear-fucking-cut.

I wouldn't be surprised nor would I call it malfeasance if they did this.
Malfeasance is certainly reasonable but incompetence seems more likely.

So back to Jibber's,
Yes. Back to Jibbers. Jibbers is STILL not a named item and is STILL not on the 10/16/33% table we are discussing with regards to named items. But keep reading those patch notes.
For now, I'll just say it again. The two named items are:
Drowned Priests Torch
Coffin Nail
Jibbers blade does not use the 10/16/33% drop chance.

I understand it is a clicky. But I don't think anyone has ever gotten a Jibber's and one of the other named items in the same chest.
Jibbers is so vanishingly rare that it's not hard to believe the few times its dropped that there wasn't also a named item with it. I've actually seen it drop with a named item though, so it doesn't "replace" the named item like some drop mechanics do.

That still holds true for my hypothesis.
The part I don't get - you don't have to hypothesize. I explained to you exactly how it works. Its been explained several times on the motherboards. If you go ask, you'll get the same explanation I just gave you like 4 times, and if the thread stays civil and you ask on a weekday, the devs will come in and confirm it(as they have several times). I used to be part of the discussions on the motherboards about drop rates all the time, but then I realized it was like talking to a brick wall, so I hung out here instead. So different.

The game is not designed to be FAIR in however each person deems what FAIR is. It is designed (or at least they are trying to) to keep people clicking things and logging in each day.
if the good items were all obtained easily, then that defeats the "skinner box" they want you to keep you in.
They achieve this through the Raid mechanics. The "best" items will always be raid gear. Now if you fucking ask me to go screen shot this I will loose my shit on you(db asking doesn't count because he's a sock and a cunt, in that order), but the devs have also stated several times that the type of play-style they
want to see is "people running the highest difficulty they can". EG - it gives Steel an erection every time you hit enter on R10. That's why the 10/16/33% and evenly-weighted tables exist: so that getting regular non-raid named loot is easy enough to make higher-dif raiding possible.
What you're forgetting is that the definition of a "good" item changes from person/build to person/build. I may need a family recruit sigil for my firebrand sorc, but for your nuker sorc that's hot garbage. The game is definitely not "smart enough" to look at every build and guess what the optimal item is for it, then denny that to you - to say nothing of people farming for gear on alts. Do you believe there is some kind of complex algorithm that's capable of going "Ok, this guy has a sorc with 10 PLs but he's currently playing on a paladin. We better reduce the drop rate of sorc gear because he's obviously looking for that" ?
