Currently level 16 tiefling sorc. I don't usually use firestorm conduit but thought I'd test it out.

Fireball/scorch/wall of fire behaving as expected, no noticeable increase in damage.
DBF I am seeing an increase of around 10% damage and I don't understand why.
Without staff equipped, caster level 20 (16 levels and 4 cores) with staff equipped caster level 22. However, max caster level for DBF should be 20 and I don't have anything that increases max caster level that I can see.
Spellpower is the same with or without the staff.
Any ideas??

Go into town, click the spell you're casting and look at the combat log. It will tell you which level you're casting it at. Remove gear until it drops. If naked, check enchantments, bard song, etc.

Ignore me, I was tired. More thorough testing shows that damage is the same either way, staff is doing nothing useful - as expected.
