So I upgraded a Gem of Many Facets to Legendary, hoping for Elders and the Burning Sun and got the below after two rerolls. (It's Elders and Starless Nights if the image don't work for you).

It seems to me that this could be good for either a Wizard Pale Master or perhaps Poison Alchemist? I have a spare toon with a handful of caster lives on the same account which I could remake into something relevant.

Is it worth the bother to try and make a gear set with this and some Dread items etc. or just not bother with it at all?

Also, I suck at inline images...

The odds of getting what you want are insanely low. Some retards on the motherboards have spent tens of thousands of threads re-rolling. I gave up after the second re-roll when I figured out it was random and decided it was the single most retarded piece of loot in the entire game.

This gem would be good on the following:

1. Blight Nuker (mentioned)
2. Pale Master kinda (not meta, but ok)
3. Alch thrower (if you look in the ranged section THIS EXACT GEM combo is mentioned by Rubb, i think)


EDIT: But keep in mind that JUST having the elders part is meta for most caster nuker builds. So... It's still useful.

How can it not be meta with +12% crit chance to Neg/Poison? As well as Artifact Neg/Poison Spell Power, Legendary Crit Damage, Artifact Helpless damage. Or are you saying a PM would be getting all that somewhere else?

The neg spells and spell levels aren't high enough to be a top nuker. It would help most on self heals, I suppose.

I now got a Elders+Abashi. It seemed like it could be good with profane +3 DC's, +3 abilities, Sheltering etc. but I can't see who would wear 5 pieces bearing in mind the other set items?

5 Dread is Profane as well, all be it a bit lower on DC's and Abilities (+2) and no MRR, but the items seem more useful and there's more slot options, including main and offhand.

The new content will have some better set bonuses for DC caster stuff anyway

Thanks, I had missed the Perfected bonuses somehow when looking up the new gear when this came out. I quite like the look of it for my bard, I will have to see if I can fit it in with a Dread set or two.
