GS goggles for WF barb?

So, I was thinking since tharnes goggles arent so essential for a melee that will be getting a lot of agro that perhaps goggles might be a good place for a GS hitpoint item.  Am I wrong?  T

It's still extra damage for trying to pull aggro off of another person. The True Seeing is nice too.

I have goggles on my barb, but just go ahead and make a random guard item for that slot too. If your tanking something there is really no need to be wearing tharnes. For genral questing Tharnes are better.

And if the goggles have a nice clicky on the second tier, then you can use them for that clicky in regular questing as well.

Just don't make it your HP item like I did... Sad

Tharnes Goggles are great...

But if you are hate-tanking or soloing (say like slayers) I suggest making Lightning Strike Gaurd goggles over Disentegrate Gaurd.

The Reasoning is this...
Lightning Strike
Tier One>>>Good (will hit all devils)
Tier Two>>>Lightning (Will hit all Devils)
Tier Three>>>Lightning (will hit all devils)

Disentegration Gaurd
Tier One>>>Acid (Devils have resistance to it)
Tier Two>>>Evil (Devils are Immune)
Tier Three>>>Acid (Devils have resistance)

So on the Lightning strike...you get to Nickel and Dime the monsters and get the big proc.

Disentegration Gaurd...its pretty much all or nothing.

I hope this helps.

Oh one other thing...

If you are going to *NOT* tank in a Docent of Defiance...

I suggest trying to get Corrosive Salt Gaurd *AND* Disentegration Gaurd on your Dragon Touched Armor.

Bacab said it best...

I will add, I have lit2 goggles I use for tanking or if I am sure I will have agro and throw intim as well, as a lightning strike proc is equivalent to 75~ attacks with tharnes on.
In most epics, tharnes are better for twitching, especially chasing mobs that are agro'd on casters.

I put +5 ref on mine, so I have a higher ref save when tanking and wearing DoD (ToD, VoD, Snitch etc)
Then it's DT with +5 resist and tharnes goggles for Von6, DQ.

Works well, just accept those larges will not always be in use Smiley

I will keep this polite. You are talking like John Madden. Who thinks he knows everything about football, but really he just gives useless information that everyone already knows Embarrassed

As far as the goggles. I would hold onto tharnes (obviously) for things like epic von 6 (prepping the djinnis if needed) to hotswap too.

Keep in mind clerics carry a spell called True Seeing, which will give you a True Seeing effect. (that was for you bacab) Wink

Some sneak attack damage is not that great over a guard, granted its better than a GS guard if you're not tanking and holding aggro in let's say, tod p3. Keep in mind the new epic version of red fens goggles, and their set bonus as well Smiley

I don't even think he mentioned whether he was deciding between lightning strike and disintegrate anyways  Undecided

TS comes on a staff.  Farm it, buy it, carry it around.

Problem solved.

That should remove any whining about some clerics and bards not casting TS.

Yeah, because that completely solves the problem of mobs being displaced.
You know that only works if you actually want to use the staff to fight, and you just made a post about how shitty a staff's DPS is it.
So which is it, should they carry it and use it, or not?  Make up your fucking mind.

Or better yet, cast it when requested and shut up.

Followed immediately by a post in a different thread stating that he should carry around a staff.

I mention that the only time the staff would actually be useful for the reasons he says to carry it would be to fight displaced mobs.... which is counter to him immediately prior stating that staff DPS sucks.

He's the one contradicting himself, and when I point it out I'm the one with the stupid posts.
OK, right.  Whatever.

See, if you read the post, my post specifically stated quarterstaves are shit for dps.

Reading comprehension is a skill most people obtain before or after kindergarten.  So what the fuck is wrong with you?

Thats a Rhetorical question.  You can read the definition of "Rhetorical Question" below.

a statement that is formulated as a question but that is not supposed to be answered; "he liked to make his points with rhetorical questions"
wordnetweb.princeton.edu/perl/webwn
A rhetorical question is a figure of speech in the form of a question posed for its persuasive effect without the expectation of a reply (ex: "Why me?") Rhetorical questions encourage the listener to think about what the (often obvious) answer to the question must be. ...
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rhetorical_question
A question posed only for dramatic or persuasive effect; A question to which the asker does not expect an answer
en.wiktionary.org/wiki/rhetorical_question
A question solely for effect, with no answer expected. By the implication that the answer is obvious, it is a means of achieving an emphasis stronger than a direct statement, as in Shelley's "Ode to the West Wind:" O, Wind, If Winter comes, can Spring be far behind?
www.poeticbyway.com/gl-r.html
A question asked not to elicit an actual response but to make an impact or call attention to something. “Will the world ever see the end of war?” is an example of a rhetorical question.
www.sparknotes.com/testprep/books/newsat/chapter12section2.rhtml
A question intended to provoke thought, but not an expressed answer, in the reader. It is most commonly used in oratory and other persuasive genres. ...
www.gale.cengage.com/free_resources/glossary/glossary_qr.htm

Hopefully you can understand one of those you fucking twat.

Once again you stupid, worthless waste of oxygen, It is a clickable item.  Which means, equip, double click (or use a hotkey, OMG!?!?!?!?!?!), and voila! You now have TS on you.  Switch weapons then kill things.

How fucking stupid are you?

Thats another rhetorical question by the way.  I already know.

Just because the retarded kid in your preschool class gets a better grade then you doesn't mean  you need to try to look intelligent.  You aren't, accept it.  I would propose slashing your wrists, across the road not down.  We all you know you are desperate for the attention.

I really don't think farming one of those just for one, eleven minute clickie of true-seeing, is worth it. Especially considering you'll most likely have a cleric with you to cast it on you during a quest in which you would need it. Also, that is just irrelevant advice anyways because he already had Tharne's, if I'm not mistaken, and can just hotswap for TS that is permanent.  Undecided

Who waits for clerics?  Ahh, wait, that is right... you.  Apparently you are under the impression I care about the other players I group with.  They can eat my dust, and you can eat my shit.

Also Mr. Superiority, then do not farm it, buy it.  If you read what you quoted, you would of seen it as a viable option.  What quest takes longer then 11 minutes to get to the first shrine?  Oh, none of them.

I know you are not a big believer in clickies, but thats just because you are shit player that likes to  stick quarterstaves up their arse.

Also, why would you want to constantly move a guard and/or hp item when you are fighting?  You wouldn't.  Why do you think people always want to know where is a good place to put them? They do not want to keep switching them for certain mobs.

In closing, I would like to say...
