I never really got the public school jokes.  I went to private schools since preschool, and most of them are filled with rich kids that were booted from all the public schools in their home area.  Then there were the few, very few, that had to get to keep scholarships because we grew up on welfare.  Woot government programs.

The joke is subtle. I will try to explain.

I was bussed as part of the desegregation act. While I totally understand why that was done, it was a pain in the ass. It took 1 hour to get to the school I was assigned. Better yet, I went past schools that were my grade level on my way. It was not a "perfect" learning environment.

Historically, southern public schools have done exceptionally poor across all categories.

So the joke plays on my personal experiences and expected stereotyping by the audience. Hopefully now you understand my intent. You have taken all the fun out of saying it now.

I am late to the party, but no, you can not use the halfling healing dragonmarks while madstone raged, just like you can't do any monk finishers while madstoned either. It pops up a warning saying, I think, "Something is preventing you from casting spells." when you try.

That's why I never wore/wear the boots on Itty.

There is the Rage spell - from spell or potion.
There is madstone rage effect, from the boots or getting hit by the effect in the quest Madstone Crater.

AND then there's the barbarian, or barbarian past life feat, Rage ability.

They all work differently. Think the question was if you can use the DM's during barbarian rage - the spell doesn't prevent anything, and the Madstone effect blocks the DM's for sure.

Will check on a halfling barb myself, but I don't think they will work.
