I like Epic Envenomed Cloak. More HP, and combined with an Epic Docent, they cover Hvy fort and toughness, leaving the head slot free (Triple Earth HP item in my case).

Just a nice way to get rid of that minos.

I agree with you.  He may not have the necessary ingredients to craft this epic cloak but lets face it, end game everyone wants one.  So why waste greensteel when eventually you will have an envenomed cloak.  save your ingredients and just use something cheap until you can make the epic cloak.

Meh. I'd rather go for greensteel over EEC. I'm more likely to TR than start the epic grind, and greensteel is far more useful for that.

Entirely up to you, but we are just presenting end game gear layouts.

Ultimately the head slot is better used for a GS item OR Epic item.

For a Wizard, there really is nothing in epic to put there (Red Helm but not optimal), so HP item or SP item (whichever you craft 2nd) is what makes sense.

The loss of the Napkin is pretty minor when you consider that you will normally be insta killing or mass holding/web/dance.

For both of those, you will have a +2 DC item/weapon equipped (Upgraded Death's Touch, Eardweller, Inner Sight, Spirit Sight, Epic Diabolist) that would make the Napkin redundant anyway.

So, if you are going to have +45hp , toughness, and Heavy Fort between the Head and Cloak slot, why not add +7con, +5 saves into the mix?

Choices for +7 int are Inner Sight staff (not ideal at all) or Epic Robe/Docent. Put +1 con or int (depending what ToD rings you end up with) and Hvy fort or Toughness on the Epic robe/docent.

I started this post 4 hours ago and got sidetracked by "work", so I forget what else I was going to say.

Anyway, hope it at least gives you some ideas.

Gear load is currently, as far as I remember:
Head: Minos Legens
Eyes: Tier II GS goggles; Wiz VI, +50sp / Blindness Immune
Neck: Con+6 Necklace / Korthos Necklace / Twisted Talisman
Trinket: Head of Good Fortune/Phiarlan Pendant
Cloak: Stormreaver's Napkin
Belt: Belt of GFL
Wrists: Bracers of Str+5
Rings: Ring of Lies, Ring of Resistance +4
Gloves: Currently nothing, I think.
Boots: 30% Striders / Feather Falling / Elvenkind +13
Docent: Deathblock, Shield clicky, working on DT
Hands: Sup Pot VI & Gtr Spell Pen VII sceptres, switch to Fire Lore / Ice Lore with Freeze/Inferno clickies as appropriate.

Currently running Reaver for Dreamspitter and gathering Shroud ingredients for +45hp/ConOp Bracers. At some point will start running ADQ for Torc. Higher level loot I haven't bothered planning yet - lacking a group to run ToD/VoD/Abbot with, it seemed rather pointless to build a gearload around them.

General gameplan is to gear up for an easy Wizard TR - that's more likely than playing a lot of epics. I'm likely to hold off TRing for a while though, to keep a couple of toons at cap to fund levelling alts.


I just added epic spyglass on my wiz... plan to place luck in it's slot. Also made the epic ornamental dagger... Running a flesh wiz with an epic illusionist robe for +7 int and blue slot for time being.
