The Silver Host! A raid saver / Raid solo healer

Cantcatchthe Presents you… Cool
The Silver Host
A healing, nuking, and ALIVE Fvs
I’ve made a couple fvs but I deleted two of them because people kept asking me to heal for them when I hardly ever played my healer. (Although I hear I did well I felt weak on them.  You will not feel weak on this build.)  I’m drawing on my knowledge from leveling them and a wizard TR up to build a healing build with extreme survive ability and solo scroll farming ability etc.  This build will stand up with the melees with high hp so you can get hit just as much as them and not have to quicken your healing rate allowing you to regenerate mana.  If you are soloing you will be able to  get a lot from archers shooting you on the run etc. The effective mana on this build is roughly 5k without trying at all to get mana proc’s with a huge upper cap if you are willing to wait on mana proc’s.

THIS BUILD IS EXPENSIVE AND TIME CONSUMING IF YOU JUST WANT A STANDARD HEALER LOOK ELSEWHERE.

Hot swapping gear such as noxious embers, dc increasing gear, potency clickies happens.   Just sayin.

So a good cleric?  You dont need to be anything special to solo heal epics or elite raids.  Perty easy.

FVS and It's more about being durable / adding dps along with healing
Also with wings + hp + proper gear it will be really hard to take this guy down so you can recover after a wipe

Hey, dont respond to my posts! Finish putting the build up!

FVS, Cleric, whatever.  Healer.  Same thing, different tricks.  It better be good to, I need a FVS build that will allow me to speed through FVS life at maximum speed.

Don't get your hopes up.  It might involve multiple +3 tomes and a late LR to put them all to use. :p

I am playing a WF FvS that I TR'd from a sorc. 18 str/con and 12 cha. Rest as you see fit, but I did int for skill points. All level ups in STR. I am doing the healing enhancements, with a little of the melee enhancements. This is a pretty good healer, and is comparative to my pure cleric. Melee's ok, and I think you can work it into being a raid tank if you want to go that way. I more see myself as playing a healer mostly in guild runs. We have plenty of tanks. Solo's nicely if you need to do that occasionally.

I edit'd cant's build to not require any Lr's and +3 tomes are a dime a dozen when you are talking as many tr's as that build had.

I'm putting the finishing touches on the build. Cheesy

Quicken is a feat for those with no skill.

That is all.

I agree with Epoch's statement that more people should be taking Quicken on their casters.

If you can name one quest or epic where it is needed, I will agree.  Otherwise, it is helpful yes, needed? Never.  In some situations it can be very helpful.  Since I have done every epic and every raid on elite without, good luck.

I can't think of any quest or epic where Power Attack is needed, either.

I'm fairly likely to include that feat on anyone who will swing a sword, though.

It is needed to maximize dps.  Quicken is needed to what? Cast spells without being interrupted? NTY, I would rather cast without being interrupted and not use more sp to make it happen.  The only exception to this is the WF FVS I am going to make for my FVS life on my completionist.

So basically, unless you are in the middle of the fray (kiting mobs through a bb isn't in the middle of the fray), it isn't needed.  Yes, you can solo epics without quicken as well!  Do not be shocked or alarmed, it can and has been done many a time!

Edit:  I am pretty sure I have already argued my case on quicken on this forum though.  Ill dig it up and post a link and you can read it there as I do not really feel like repeating myself.

My play experience has told me that not getting quicken is stupid.  That's just my experience.  I enjoy soloing /short manning elite vod tod etc.  My experience is prolly different then yours.

It's more to allow for quickening how fast you can lay down a blade barrier and the follow up with a quick heal bc you are multi tasking.  But if you are in a 12 man group where you can dc and not be missed you would not understand this.

Quicken is for those who want to bathe in fire and pain without problem. and for those who want to dump their supply of fire and pain at a greater rate.

If maximizing DPS is important to you, then so is quicken... whether for offense or healing.  As someone else pointed out, power attack isn't needed for any quest either... but it is if maximizing DPS is important to you.

Another way to look at it is why not take quicken.  If you're good enough to not need it, then you're also rich enough to never turn it off.  If you play balls-to-the-wall DDO, it's important.

Why not? I have no reason why not other then I have never needed it.  My concentration is in the low 60's.  Throw in dr, resists, protection, and absorption and my concentration is never broken.  Completely worthless on a sorc.

For my cleric same deal.  Conc is never broken so BB lands just fine.  I typically cycle mass cures, I do not really use mass heal.  Might cost more sp wise, but I think you said it yourself right? If I am rich enough to never turn it off, I am rich enough to cycle mass cures which cast just fine.

On my wizard I have considered taking it just because of all the metamagic reductions he has.  Just to boost the casting speed.

Anyways, my casters and cleric have no problem dumping their sp pool before the melee kill whatever it is.  This is an easily achieved feat without quicken.

I have no problem with the feat, perfectly fine choice.  I fail to see why  people see it as a must though.  Healed an elite ToD just fine without and edq, ev6.  Which pretty much sums the more difficult of the current endgame.  Which isn't saying much I know.
