Akrites - Bard of the Burrows

So here it is!  This is my very first toon, and I want to get into epics fairly soon so that I don't have to pay irl cash dollars when I finally TR.  Also, I obviously want at least a few pieces of epic gear and whatnot.

So right now, I know that the major thing that I have as a problem is that I've only got a 35 save for my Disco Ball.  I need to squeeze out a couple more Charisma to help raise it.  With guild buffs, I should be able to bump that to 37, which is still just a wee bit light for my taste.

Anyway, O! wise men and women of the vault, come tear me apart and tell me how badly I suck at this game!  Obviously, I'm planning on redoing the enhancements to get rid of Halfling Dex, but I have no idea what to do with those two points, so I definitely hope that's part of the advice I get.

Stats:
Str: 12/20 (+2 Tome, +6 Gloves)
Dex: 10/17 (+1 Enhancement, +6 Ring)
Con: 14/22 (+2 Tome, +6 Necklace)
Int: 8/10  (+2 Tome)
Wis: 8/9   (+1 Tome)
Cha: 18/37 (+6 hat, +3 Enhancements, +5 Levels, +1 Exceptional, +2 Tome, +2 Capstone)

HP - 387
MP - 1212

Equipment:

Hat - Captain's Chapeau.  +6 CHA, +15 Perform, +1000 Awesome Points.  Seriously, it looks pimp, so I really don't want to change it.
Goggles - +25 HP Greensteel.  Eventually to be upgraded to +45HP.
Robe - Dragontouched Vestments.  Heavy Fort, Exceptional CHA +1, shooting for Greater Spell Pen eventually.
Bracers - Tharaak Bracelet - Toughness, DR 3/Lawful, +2 AC, some awful acid breath clickie.
Ring1 - Disease Immunity Ring of Wizardry II
Boots - Feather Falling Boots of Springing +11
Gloves - Ogre Power +6 Gloves w/ Tiny Guild Slot
Ring2 - Tumbleweed.  +2 Attack, +6 Dex, +10 Tumble
Belt - Proof Against Poison Belt of Greater False Life
Cloak - Stormsinger Cloak.  +4 to Saves, +11 Perform, Sonic Guard, Anthem (the main draw here.  Regen songs!)
Trinket - Treasure Hunter's Spyglass, level 16.  +3 UMD, True Seeing, +13 to spot and search
Necklace - Shintao Cord.  +6 Con, +15 Concentration.
Weapon - Swap between Dreamspitter, Staff of Fleshshaping, and Scepter of Mad Trickery with a light mithral shield of Deathblock/Spearblock.

Skills (Buff-free final scores, just the ones that matter/I have dumped points into):
Balance - 15

UMD - 43

For some reason I read the title as "Bard of the Burritos."  I like yours better.  That's all I got.

I just figure it's SUPER OBVIOUS that I am pretty much the ultimate model for the Halfling Bard, so I'd better give it a snappy name before every Bard TRs into Halfling Spellsingers.

I would suggest that after you login, select this character, hit delete, type in his first name, then confirm.
If this isn't optional, then i dunno.  I don't believe in spellsingers.

Spellsingers are the best pikers in the game! Ask Hordo.

I can't pike very well.  I can manage it for about 45 seconds to about 2 minutes before I have to do something.  I do not have the mentality to pike.

It's REALLY easy to pike as a Spellsinger, but it's also really easy to keep everyone's blue bars up, drop plenty of CC, fall back into the position of healer when needed, keep everyone buffed, and save more than your fair share of parties that you join.  Usually without anyone knowing what a hero you are.

What you just suggested isn't piking - and there is no difficulty to piking on any class, it is the same all throughout.

Now, try again.

PS.  Everyone knows that buffing the group and playing wannabe healer is boring.  Should of been a cleric or a warchanter.

He ran some drunk raids with us a couple of weeks ago. For a new player, he isn't terrible. Did pretty good for someone on their first character, following a group of drunk people. I struggle with that myself. Smiley

Hehehe, he may be a great player, but you are ruining my fun!  I haven't had the time to play DDO lately so I gotta get my fun in somewhere!

Nah, if you're one of two Divine casters in a shroud, it's pretty hard to pike - your lack of contribution will be noticed and you will be called out.  Or your soul stone will be dropped off of a cliff somewhere.  Or the party will wipe.  Etc.

I mean, anyone can pike, but what I mean to say is that it's really easy to pike on a spellsinger without drawing any ire from your comrades.  No one expects you to do shit, so anything you do is a bonus.

And personally, I love keeping people buffed.  Not to mention all of the thanks that I get for keeping everyone's blue bars moving to the right instead of the left.  Tongue

ETA: Also, I am still TOTALLY ASHAMED of my drunken HoX.  I need to get in on another drunk run some time in the future just to make up for it.  Tongue

If people take the time to say thanks for buffs, you aren't doing the quest fast enough.
That is all.

Except for HoX.  Let us not forget that I was just plain awful at HoX.  Mostly because I didn't understand how the bees worked and kept charging straight into them.

Of course, that was after doing the shard on pro rules, so I am pretty sure that I had at least 7-10 shots by the time we were in HoX.  Tongue

Your build isnt getting ripped apart because it is a spellsinger.  You have umd, hp, you know what to focus on for dcs.  So really, the build is covered.

Bring a melee toon here.  They tend to get ripped apart the best.  Well, unless you do something really really buttfucking retarded on a divine or arcane.

what happend? i tend to brown out

brown out:    Less intense than the experience of "blacking out" when drunk and not remembering portions (or all) of your night, "browning out" occurs when you don't remember something until someone brings it up. It's not a complete blackout, but partial, because you remember once someone refreshes you.
