Green Steel Suggestions for a Rogue Mechanic

I'm trying to figure out what would be the best options for my rogue mechanic II's ( http://my.ddo.com/character/argonnessen/minimouse/ ) first Green Steel Weapon. She goes between dual short swords and  repeaters.

I'm not sure if I should go with a short sword or a repeater and from there I'm still trying to decide on what combo I should work towards. I've considered Lightning II, Elemental Mastery or perhaps Radiance.

This is my second character to start to hit the Vale. My first character to hit the vale, Cullket ( http://my.ddo.com/character/argonnessen/cullket/ ,) is sporting a Min II Great Sword and Tier II Earth Goggles right now. I know I could do a Min II weapon for Mini, but I was think that maybe I could try something a bit different.

Comes down to how many pugs you run with, really.

Radiance gets you SA, but can mess with groups. Earthgrab (cheap as crap, since it's one element) gets you shorter bursts of 1.5x SA.
Lit2 ignores the SA component entirely in favor of front-loading the damage, so youre not as worried about agro-control (and I know just how nasty agro control gets on a mech).

Probably favor earth->lit2-rad, unless you're running with a heavy hitter crowd controller all the time (that scenario, IPSing mass held mobs is nasty), at which point go for the lit2 since they'll be lining things up for you, or radiance if you're soloing alot.

If you're trying the style before you buy/grind arty, I'd also skip earthgrab, since the benefits there aren't as nice, what with the extra damage per hit front-loaded instead of conditional.

That'd be that thing you get every other level that adds to your dps just for being a rogue as long as you're not charging ahead and agroing everything like a retard, or most 'dps assassins' I keep running across.

Very good input from you all. I'll have it figured out by the time my suspension is lifted. She does end up soloing a lot, but I'm also at the point where she needs to start travelling with a group.

I do have artis as well. Its kinda funny, but she ended up very arti-like, including taking the defender enhancements, but she pre-dates that class by a couple of years. If those defenders were not so great at pulling aggro, I'd dump them already. However, I'm worried about how their effectiveness will drop as she continues to level. She may have to reset her enhancements soon. That would also allow her to go to Fred and swap out Augment Summon since she wouldn't need to boost defenders anymore. Thank god I just take my excess Sibrys Dragonshards to a Stone of Change to make the bigger stones for cases such as this.

Your first Greensteel should be an HP item.  Especially on that character.  205 at level 15 is worrisome.  You ought to have 300 at least before entering Shroud.

After that, RadII.  Then LitII.

MinIIs are only for those that have LDSes to waste.  It's trivial to make superior Cannith Crafted weapons for the bosses MinIIs are useful for.

I was gonna keep her a mechanic, I would just basically swap out the defenders for some of the other useful rogue enhancements. One nice thing about Mechanic II is that she's already maxed it out and she's been picking more enhancements to make her a little more flexible as a rogue. I don't remember if she has toughness, but swapping augment summon for toughness could help her HP a bit.

Craetos is immune to light damage.

Pain in the ass for my FvS since the DC on my Blade Barriers is about 12.

I'm agreeing on the opinion that the first GS item a rogue does should usually be a HP item. I like triple air for their clickie, guard and generall cheapness.

Second most important item (and this will actually improve your self-sufficientivity greatly) should be a RadII. Repeater if ranged, mainly, Rapier if meleeing mainly. On a piercing specced char, that is.

That's not opinion, that's science. And science is one cold hearted bitch with a 14 inch strap on.

Reading you all very loud and clear: get the bitch more HP! Smiley However I'm now in school time and my DDO playing will suffer because of it. However, I may be able to work on both at once to Tier II since my paladin has a decent collection of Small/Medium ingredients.

My GS suggestion for a Mechanic is to make a Rad2 and a Lit2 rapier, and then TR into an Assassin.
Or make a Lit2 heavy repeater and then TR into an Artificer.
Either way, TR into something else immediately.

And only follow an officially sanctioned build. You are not allowed to ever try anything different.

Unless it is something involving Barb and Sorc levels. Blasters with crazy high HP are totally OP.

Haven't you heard? All "sanctioned" builds, especially the ones that are "named" by their creators are now outré and mark you as an unimaginative n00b.

You need to study the mechanics from the ground up by reading every pen and paper book ever published from 1st edition to 4th and learn to construct your own.

Or you could construct a bed out of them and try to learn osmotically.

So my Drow 9 Barb/11 Sorc shouldnt have problems getting in to epic content? As long as I tell the group leader that I have read all the books?

I would let you in. And when the rest of the party said otherwise I would just yell out SISSY!

Given my build, I find it impossible to believe that I could do anything other than lead the kill count.

And if I worked out how to turn on auto attack/follow I could even do it while watching TV.

Oh, not sure why, but I felt I should also say something about the actual query. GS HP item first up. If you plan on TRing a lot (to casters), consider a Conc/Opp even though it wont really help much this life. Otherwise, triple Pos can be good (if you like Raise Dead clickies) or triple Air is also good.

Also, think about how many items you expect to make. Most people would have grand plans to make many, but then fall well short after deciding they hate the grind. So work out what you REALLY want and get them first.
