wonder what the +3 supreme tomes are then.

35%?  50%?

with a 100% bonus first time through?

My bet is the +3 will be 35% with a 75% first time bonus.  Makes buying the tomes off of the ddo store a little more appealing.

It's okay, I would much rather see an XP tome by itself. ML7 for the second tome kinda sucks but there is an abundance of content up to that point so meh. wonder how much TP these are gonna run.

Fernando did say in that recent interview that they wanted to provide a way for people to get to 20 more quickly so that they could start enjoying all of Turbine's shiny new Epic content/levels.

Thanks for the report.
We've already fixed this in our internal builds, so this description mix-up won't be live with U13.

Quote:
Supreme Ability Tomes are not changing, nor have there ever been any plans to change what they do or the benefits they provide. Due to a mistake, their descriptions on Lamannia are currently replaced with the description from a different item. It's just text. This bug will be fixed when U13 goes live.

XP is a (log?) curve anyway - it's extremely backloaded, especially so on TRs. The XP up to 7 is trivial compared to the XP after.

Plus it's likely the ML7 is part of the supreme tome and not the XP tome.

Pretty sure it would be a separate item, not rolled into the +3/+2/+1 tomes.  Meaning it would be a learning tome rather than an ability tome.

Now, if it is actually going to show up and not just something passed out internally remains to be seen.

Reminds me of the trinket they gave out in LOTRO for pre-ordering the Isengard expansion.

Just saying.

They will be extremely hard to get.  Insanely low drop rate - lower than +3 tomes.

Or $20-ish in the store...

They could put it on a trinket, dedicate it to a D&D legend, and make it available as a guaranteed end reward.

Or they could make it a tome that lasted through TRs. Just imagine!

Still trying to decide if this is a genius marketing ploy, getting us excited about something by 'accidentally' putting the text on the tomes, knowing people would buy them on lamania to test them sticking through TRs. Or if they are just plain fucking stupid.

Old habits die hard though.

They test new items by overwriting old items. They have practically no control of what code gets where, so over and over again descriptions of unannounced items have made it to lamannia or even live.

bugger that, they should put it on a cloak, dedicate it, give it a set bonus, and make it a guaranteed end reward instead.

That would be the destination I imagine.  As the above description/name was tacked onto a +2 Supreme ability tome.

Some of you players will go broke buying those from the DDO Store.

Brilliant marketing ploy.  Appeal to the power gamers that scream for ways to get EXP for their TR characters.

If said trinket gave +50%xp first and 20% xp for all runs then sure
as it stands now I'm constantly in a struggle between my desire to max out my toons and the reality that I don't play effectively enough to do that

So... +50% tome, +30% pot, +5% item, +3% shrine = 88%. About 2.3M pre-bonus XP required to hit 20 on a TR2 instead of 4.3M. And that's not counting the 150% elite first time + streak bonus, since you would never have to break streak or repeat a quest even once.
