To be truthful, you don't have to buy the expansion. The game will still work without it. I am not seeing why anyone is getting upset with the pricing. They are a business, they have to make money. You can choose if the product is worthwhile or not. You can choose to spend money on the game or not. Either way you can still play the game. I am not sure I am getting the nerdrage on this one?
I understand that the purchase is solely the consumer's choice. I probably have enough points stocked up from tr'ing endlessly.
My problem is content volume/price, the fact that it's Turbine and quality.
The average pc/console game is what 60usd? I'd be willing to bet that most games coming out have more content for the lesser price. Most games have solo (story) and multiplayer (replay) so they cover pretty much the same ground as DDO.
It's Turbine. They are a shit company with license to a great IP that couldn't code a fucking Ovaltine secret message. Seriously, when comparing them to any other service company it makes one wonder how the hell they even got this far.
Turbine and quality are just not synonomous. If their programmers and QA dept. were as diligent as the morons they have combing through forum posts, they'd probably have a better product on their hands. Everytime they release an update, patch or 'hot fix' I cringe as I know they are fucking something else up. Hell, the expansion is month's from release and they already fucked things up with it.
I'm just kind of disappointed to see Turbine shit in a box, again, call it cake and watch people line up with money in their grip

Well, I must modify that thought... Turbine is too cheap to put out a physical disc for 80 fucking dollars

Seriously if Turbine subbed/sold the license out to someone else I probably would try it.
Edit: Holy fuck how did teh Oak get in there?
