so i've been thinking... seeing how people are saying that Wis AA is the way to go to alternate Manyshot and Ten Thousand Stars... maybe a Shintao III AA?
grandmaster in earth and water and using Kukan-Do while using the alchemical Longbow with +10 Stunning at range?
then again, seems like the build won't have much melee options when it comes down to it huh?

shintao 3 is just fucking retarded, it doesn't do shit for you with bows.
stop at level 12, go ninja like everyone else with a brain.

so access to Grandmaster stances + Kukan Do isn't worth going 18 monk?
that passive ki regen for grandmaster water sounds useful for Ten Thousand Stars and Kukan Do without having to go into melee for ki too

No, you're going to be in Earth stance, mostly, for the extra crit multiplier, and that doesn't go up with grandmaster stance, so go 12 monk, ninja for sneak attack. Then 6 ranger for feat density. Last 2 can be any of a few things, your choice.

You're going to want all 3 feats. But if you do the six ranger, you'll have two of them for free.

GTWF adds 12.5% attacks which is crucial for a melee build but a 10k stars build is ideally only using melee 25-33% of the time which reduces the benefit of GTWF to 3-4%. It's still good but there might be better things.

12monk 6 ranger 2 fighter (better melee balance)
12monk 7arti 1 fighter (more AA focused)
pick one depending on how much AA you actually want to do. Learn a bit about DDO and builds, then come back with educated questions.

What what what, you suggest 12 monk/7 arti/1 fighter and you tell others to learn about DDO and builds? What a joke.
12 monk/6 ranger/2 fighter or artificer
11 ranger/6 monk/3 artificer (bit of flexibility on this one)
Few other variations work too but these are the main two.

12m/7arti/1 fighter works amazingly well for retards who can't figure things out for themselves but want trap skills, evasion, abundant step and umd.
i'm assuming the op is one of these retards, 7 arti could easily be dropped for 1 more fighter with virtually no losses. I'm well aware, but i'm also no longer giving well thought out advice in a thread where it will be wasted.

If you were in front of me I would do the world a favor and gnaw off your arms. This way, you would not be able to disgrace ddo with your presence and I can play in prison.

Also, the only reason why you are mad at munkenmo is because he is right. Now now, it is ok. Sometimes the big bad meany is right.

Quick question, to someone who plays any ranged characters at all - how valuable is IPS?

I find IPS to be fairly useful. Be sure to turn it off when ranging the Shadowmaster in ToD Part II, however.

It's only good in quests that have more than one enemy in them.
