change your dns server to googles dns server.

8.8.8.8

working for me atm.

Been awhile since I did anything of this nature.  Through the browser or do I need to jump into cmd window?

Failing for me, but I get different errors in the launcher than I did on some other attempts.  It's times like this that I wish I was one of those people who manually updated their hosts file.

Well I can get to forums now, and a little further in the login to the game progress, but now I'm a the screen that usually appears when the servers are down.

Hacked by Al Queda. Or perhaps a drone strike.

Either way.

I'm about to fucking toss up my Torc and call MOTU a loss.

This is sooo much bullshit I'd rather give GW2 $200 cash than all the nonsense Turbine has been infested with. Of course, could it be possible Guild Wars has the same gremlins.

You guys! They are too busy with the expansion, they can't be bothered with trivial things like fixing bugs and extending domain registrations!  Cheesy

You change it in your TCP/IP settings.  Can get to it through your Control Panel then Network and Settings... .then dig down into the properties.  Not sure how to explain to get to it the easiest way without spending more time than I want to.

This worked in curing the HTML error on the login client but the client is still saying it cannot connect (as when the servers are down).

This as well. As I understand it, the google dns workaround is still working, because it seems to be slow and not to be ut-to-date.

I still can't believe someone actually let their domain expire
From the professionals that brought you the AC change folks, can we hear a huzzah for the expansion optimists

On a non-related note, the IP you need is 74.201.102.43

Adding those two lines in C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts

74.201.102.43 www.ddo.com
74.201.102.42 forums.ddo.com

fixes the access issue I had with the website and the forums. No clue if it will help with the login issues because I'm not brave enough to logout and try it

If you are not sure what you are doing, I advise you to not modify your hosts file or to read up a bit before doing it, its covered extensively if you google it.

The hosts edit will do nothing for the game client unfortunately as it looks to gls.ddo.com which lives on another IP.

This is so silly, domains don't just expire, you get plenty notification.

ah, this works:
74.201.102.11 patch.ddo.com

(in hosts file; on Win7 just start notepad in admin mode, edit the hosts file, save, restart client)

I had to add the following to the hosts file:

74.201.102.43      www.ddo.com
74.201.102.42      forums.ddo.com
74.201.102.13      gls.ddo.com
74.201.102.11      patch.ddo.com
74.201.102.13      gls-auth.ddo.com

This gets me into the game succesfully.

Ok this is a classic.

Maybe even better than having a bugged bug reporting tool

I bet that new Business Ddo is amazed at how many hits their new website is getting. I expect their breaking out the Champers as we speak.

Mind you they might make a few $ selling DDO their Domain back.

This is sooooo funny
