New expansion? They're not getting 75 bucks from me again. I'll wait 2 months until it's 10 bucks.

Oh, I never thought MoTU was a flop.  I think they pre-sold a shit ton of units.  I'm pretty sure financially it was a big win.  The question remains to be seen if people will make the same choice this time.

Someone please keep an eye on Rest. I'd like to know if he blows hard on the vault and then shows up playing the expansion during the early release weekend.

Nah, MoTU was a hit... it was LoTRO second expansion that didn't work that well.

They are just doing the same thing : make a hit with the first thing that is bugged as hell and squeeze more penny out with a second broken expansion ...

And Frogs, and Swedes, and Greeks...

You'll love raiding with Geeks and Swedes, especially when they are on a drinking night.

Here's what I don't understand.

Neverwinter (game) is supposed to be spun off from the Neverwinter series R.A. Salvatore is working on (with 3 novels out so far).  They're using the books to create the lore for the game, atleast that was the original idea as I understood it.  Now, these books focus on the Netherese as one of the big baddies in it.  In fact, a certain panther is trapped in the Shadowfell currently.

Why do the 2 games appear to be heading close to a colission course?  Is it all about 5th edition or does WotC want to kill Neverwinter (after Atari selling cryptic, etc).

Consider that it's the only weapon they have available...
The time if would take to design a new weapon, even if they pull out all the stops and just dump money into it would be too long to provide a weapon in time.

Honestly, if Turbine is planning to continue in the MMO business, I would be shocked if they aren't at least half way through internal development on a new engine or a next-gen MMO using a retail engine.  Your business model can't be sustaining a 6 and 7 year old MMO's.

Wizards might just want to put all their eggs in the FR basket and stop development on the half dozen other worlds.

Interesting, though I wonder how grindy this is going to get, depending how much new content is coming.  Like many here I'll definitely hold off on purchasing the xpac this time.  I pre-ordered last time as the free tome of learning for every character was too tempting.

No one blows harder than rest.  That is how he'll afford the $140
for the new expansion.
