Is this a feat for each individual stance, or does it just check if you have the base stat?

There is no stat requirement. If you take the feat "Grandmaster of Stances" you gain all four Grandmaster stances . Fire/air/water/earth. All 4. There is no longer a requirement to have 18 CON to qualify for Grandmaster of Earth. I was on a WF I rolled up just for the occasion, who had a base 14 con. You still have to take "Adept of Stances" and "Master of Stances" to get Grandmaster, but the only requirement to take any of the ".. of Stances" feats are 1 level of monk. At least currently.

Yeah, they're probably going to have some kind of gating there or else you could have level 3 character in grandmaster stances.

That's assuming that you could take multiple tiers of the Stance bit from character gen.

Did I see though that if you go Helf, you can get monk healing amp thru the monk dilli?

That's not new, that's exactly how my main is built.  What is new, is that know you have to take the other level ups (to give you wisdom bonus to ac, etc) to open up the healing amp.

No it's not, but typically the dilettante stuff came from core class features, not PrE specific features.  So if they are moving the amp into the shintao tree, it is possible for a half elf with a monk dill to get more healing amp for less AP spend than an actual full monk.  That seems backwards.  The dill is supposed to be a scaled down version of what the actual class gets.  Not better.

I get the feeling that the devs misunderstood what the playerbase wanted.

I don't think anyone wanted a 'radically different' system.

People were excited for a enhancement revamp for two reasons:

1)  We were *promised* the missing and incomplete PRE's would be done.

2)  See #1

A new UI (less confusing) and possibly a revamp to costs and maybe a bit more flexability would have been welcome - but the fact is people liked the system and the biggest complaint wasn't the UI or the system - it was that they never finished it.

damn it  I love this game but they can't seem to f'n get their minds around to actually finishing anything.

*sigh*

I'm thinking that given Turbine has the My Little Pony fan doing the loot design, they probably put the Pokemon player in charge of the enhancement pass.

My kids have some of those cards, and while they (thankfully) never really got into Pokemon, from what I recall, each creature seems to have a special power or ability. The new enhancement pass is like throwing a half dozen Pokemon cards at each prestige path, assigning those special powers to clickies, boosts, and timed /staged abilities (every fifth heal is a crit, etc).

So maybe it isn't WoW that they're trying to turn the game into at all. Perhaps it's the Pokemon audience that they want to claim.

Note to any Turbine staffers reading this, and one I genuinely hope you share around the office: DDO has become a shit game because y'all have made it a shit game. Once it was great. Now, it's a festering puddle of monkey diarrhea. No matter how you try to justify it, or pat yourselves on the back for doing great jobs... it's a shit game now because of you. Y'all keep on giving the players the middle finger, and you keep expecting us to reward you for the abuse. I've had it with you narcissistic fuckwads and your myopic policies of ineptitude.

There seem to be some issues getting into Lamannia. brickwall posted a self-built workaround, and I am reposting it "at a 3rd party site/fan site":

Quote:
My mailbox is overflowing with requests and thanks so i'm just going to post the fix and so be it what ever they want to do to me about it.

Instructions:
This patch is a self extracting rar it is a silent installation it extracts the files directly in to the default installation folder.
If you did a custom install you can either extract it with WinRAR or go the default folder and move the files by hand.
The default installation path : C:/ProgramFiles/Turbine/DDO Unlimited(Preview).
The files contained within the patch are nothing more then the latest known working launcher files.
The download it self is hosted by media fire you may notice a lot of ads on the download page be sure you look carefully for the real download link in the box with the mediafire logo and the file name.
I think this about covers any problems users have experienced so far.
Side notes : I've personally been able to extract and completely patch the client in place on my desktop. I have also created a copy for DDO live.

Download Link : http://www.mediafire.com/?u22181q40m8...

But from a programming point of view, it must be a lot easier to make the interface closer to LOTRO and AC(which I have not seen) so they can get the monkeys all writing the same language of code. This became apparent with MOTU and its styling and such.

So I finally got caught up enough to look into DDO specific discussions... to find out they are almost done alpha testing the new enhancements system. I refuse to read 11 pages of shit about turbine fucking it up. Thanks for making this clear on page 1.

I've seen some posts saying that the entire enhancement pass is just pure steaming shit with no redeeming value.  I disagree with that.  I think that there are some nuggets of corn mixed in with the shit that would be perfectly fine if it weren't covered with shit.

And fundamentally, I think that a few relatively minor changes could actually fix it right up.  I don't think those changes are likely to happen since their entire design philosophy seems to be to make things more restrictive and to limit the number of options that a player can actually *use* while making it look like they are expanding the number of options that are available.

I'll post more after I look at Wizzerds and Sorcs so that I can have an appropriate amount of disgust for either a) all spellcasters or b) Clerics.

I don't know.  Those monk trees look pretty shitty too.

For me so far: (scale of 1 to 10.  10 = Great Improvement. 5 = A Push.  No better, No worse than Live.  1=Total Rubish.  Unplayable.)

Fighter: 8  (Really like both trees.  Would be a 10 if they gave us the 3rd tree)
Ranger: 8  (Tempest and Arcane Archer are solid.  Deepwood is still weak)
Monk: 4 (Too much core stuff high up in trees.  Too much missing stuff.)
Cleric: 2 (Missing Divine Might, SP, Spell Pen and Smiting.  Add those and this is a 5.)

PM is looking like a 7 or 8.  Haven't seen Archmage yet.

So yeah all of you who called Fvs getting the smiting enhancements give yourself a cookie.

Guess I can give up any hope that clerics will get any real glances its pretty damned clear their intentions. And the protection path still sucks even for FVS imo you can keep putting lipstick on it but its a pig!

And seriously why why is it FVS are worthy of a smiting line but clerics with all the room they have to enhance said spells get nothing? Really Turbine? Ugh.

Cleric is a freebie class, FvS is paid (or unlocked) is my guess.

FvS are fucked over too with a similar steaming pile of shit Protection tree.  The final tier of Angel of Vengeance is also an extreme disappointment.

I shouldn't be surprised.  After all, Turbine doesn't know how to itemize for clerics/fvs.  The devs responsible just dont get it.

Yep.  The FvS line is nice for an offensive caster.  Several options to boost spell power.  Spell Pen benefits.  Even DC bumps.  Why can't clerics have a similar tree?

Still, where is the FvS melee option?  Or cleric for that matter?  Both should have one.  How hard can it be?

For cleric, combine the healing and protection trees into one and get rid of all the duplication and crap.  (There are only so many ways to add healing boosts or AC/PRR respectively).  Have a tree for offensive casting.  Have a tree for melee.  2 trees.  Done.  Everybody happy.
