I've really missed that ddoor dragonmark. I always take it leveling on my human monks. I'm thinking about going ahead and going human rather than helf for my last life to fit that in while leveling back up. There's just so many situations while leveling that ddoor speeds things up just a touch.

I think I might give Munkenmo's build a go when adding melee lives; it sounds like fun.  Cheers for the thread  Cheesy

I've played it to 19 now. Be less than a 3 week cap which is relatively fast for me...that could be because it was a really fun build that was a nice change of pace, that it was very powerful leveling, or some combination of the two.

I do feel a bit underpowered at the moment but I think that's the spread between leveling gear and cap gear. This toon gets something from pretty much every stat, needs some casting gear, needs stunning boosts, could use trip boosts, etc...there's just a lot of gear demands. I'm running right now without a devotion item most of the time (fabricator's gauntlets pushed out my reaver gloves for the time being as I wanted melee alacrity, strength, and resist +5 all 3...can't beat the gloves if you're lacking all of those). I'm running without a con item (casting it) and without a GS hp item (can swap to it but cannith boots of propulsion are nice for having striding and feather fall both).

I'm thinking about dropping maximize for empower healing. I find that I just don't get enough out of my casting to make it worthwhile. It definitely adds some damage to longer fights but I never find myself pulling mobs into the ice storm and kiting - it's just not necessary - so the ice storm, creeping cold, etc are more for added damage than for a primary kiting option. Once I get rejuvenating cocoon I think Empower Healing really gets a boost versus Maximize. That said, haven't really looked at the 24 feat closely yet - I think if I go 3 level-ups to wisdom, 2 to str (16/20) I can qualify w/ my +5 str tome for OC at 21...then 1 level-up in con at 24 could get me Epic Toughness. Not sure if it's worth taking that over having Empower Healing and Maximize both though.

I'm iffy on capping my ED's on this life or trying some sort of 15 pally/3 ranger/2 monk or 14 pally/4 ranger/2 monk build to try out some deathnips. I think I'll definitely take the time to at least get to 25 though and get a feel for how this build feels in full LD form. Smiley

my gearset at 18 now.

Code
Select All
Robes : Blue Dragon
Goggles : CHA skills sp (haste clicky) / true seeing of blindness immunity yellow slot (fear immunity)
Helmet : flexible cannith crafted +4 constitution greater false life colorless slot (+5 dex)
Necklace : torc / Golden Guile
Trinket : Voice
Cloak : Hp min 2
Belt : Spare Hand (level 16)
Ring 1: Holy Burst Kyrians Band
Ring 2: Stalker ring (lvl 16)
Gloves : Fabricators Gauntlets
Boots : Rock Boots (lvl 16)
Bracers : Bracers of Wind (lvl 16)

Weapons
Alchemical Kama - silver - air / air
Greensteel Kama - Con op 6str / 20 heal amp / 30 heal amp
Greensteel Kama - Min 2
Tharaak Wraps
Mabar Wraps (level 16)

I used to feel like i was slipping behind the power curve at level 18. The kamas have completely changed that.

With the heal amp I've got now, i'd not bother with empower heal, and on feat starved classes i'll drop all magical meta's.

Yeah, I think that's what's hurt me the most this life...simply not having those kamas. I think even at cap fitting in a con-op 20/30 amp kama makes all the sense in the world.

Thanks for the idea on the helm by the way! My crafter is nowhere near the point he can make those (only 90's right now) but it would be nice for future lives. I've been using a SFL Bluff +15 hat from the cove event but that one you posted gets you +5 dex as well - a stat that I can only afford to situationally swap at the moment.

No problem, once i get more tomes on this guy, I'll end up making it as a +4 dex / gfl helm, with +5 con slotted.

Before i made this, I was swapping out my fabricators for dex, and using  a nightshield clicky.

This new solution evens out my stats quite nicely with much less hassle.

The nice thing is that I feel like on heroic elites and most likely on epic hards I could probably run them in my skivvies and do just fine. So I'll probably just use what's on hand until I cap and then either TR or play around at cap.

As far as a capped version goes though I thing 9 fighter-9 monk-2 fighter would be far superior to the 9 fighter-2 monk I'm doing for my last fighter life right now. I'm actually tempted to TR again right when I hit 20 to cap that version instead. Fighter gets us the stalwart stance and extra enhancements available for trip and stunning blow (if you took stunning blow). Monk gets us improved evasion, shadow fade, touch of death, t2 monk stances, more healing amp (which frees us up to take a different dilletante)...it's just a lot more meat on the bone.

Even the fighter version though feels like easy mode compared to anything else I've every played melee-wise.

Ok, I'm dumping my plan of farming xp on this life as I managed to snag an Otto's Box and I burnt some TP on a Sov elixir...going to TR rq tonight and burn my way back to 8 to use the stone on a monk life. I just couldn't stand the slower run speed of the fighter version when I thought about how much faster the monk version would be...probably end up saving time on the overall capping of the ED's just on the run speed alone.

I finished building out the Dronk version of this and obviously we no longer need the Monk Dilettante once we hit level 18 and have 7 monk levels. Those open up the natural monk amp. That gives me a couple really strong dilettante choices - Cleric and Rogue.

Cleric would give me the 95% heal scrolls w/o worrying about UMD gear, charisma score, etc. That said, I'd still have all that stuff around anyways...I just wouldn't have to swap to it when using heal/rez scrolls. Rogue on the other hand gives that really nice 3d6 additional sneak damage.

Anyone played this enough at cap to comment on whether the cleric or rogue would play better?

Things I learned over the weekend:

  • When you don't have to worry about saving good quests for later because you're stoning at 8 you can level to 8 really fast.
  • Otto's boxes are really nice. Not $30+ nice but really nice. I was back to 19 less than 24 hours after capping on a work day.
  • Don't stone with kids around. I was distracted and took 19 when I stoned, opened up my quest list, and then thought "oh shit...I just screwed up BB on pretty much everything". It worked out - I ran through several slayers like Orchard, Manufactury, Amrath, Vale etc and probably capped faster than I would have with elite vale but it would have been nice to have the option to run those as well.
  • Going along with this - first time slayers is a hell of a way to get quick xp if you haven't touched any of them. Especially with the 2 1/2 hours of slayer count boosts from the box.
  • Sadly Legendary Dreadnaught does not play well with this build. Momentum Swing will not work in form regardless of what type of weapons you have equipped for the same reason that Stunning Fist does work - when you're in form you're unarmed. That'll make my time in Dreadnaught short enough to get Shiradi unlocked so I can work on getting cocoon opened up.

Just hit 21 last night. Managed to not screw up anything while leveling up (unlike last life when I forgot to switch from wisdom on level-up to strength at level 16) so I got to take Overwhelming Critical at 21. Seemed like a fair trade-off - down 2 wisdom for the 1 higher crit multiplier on 19's and 20's.

I decided to go with Rogue dilettante and haven't regretted it yet. It's far easier not to scroll with this build anyways.

Still haven't made up my mind about the level 24 feat. Empower Healing would be great for cocoon and possibly healing spring if I ever twist it for even more healing. It would also amp up the druid casting even more for a fairly small cost. If I put my level 24 level-up in to con or pull a +4 to +5 upgrade I could take Epic Toughness as well. And Extend would be really nice just to mitigate the really short duration on all the buffs.

I can't really comment on the build as far as epics go. I'm still running in lousy gear that's only half filled out and I'm still running mostly slayers, non-epic challenges, and level 19 non-epic quests. It certainly feels very powerful in that content but that's pretty much a given. I'll be shifting over to epic challenges now to get my bracers of wind upgraded (really want to slot feather falling in that so I don't have to swap out my hp earthgrab gs boots every time I need ff). Once I finish all the runs for that I should be close to 22 and be ready to delve in to the epics a bit more.

Anyone have any idea how Celestia would interact with wolf form? I'm assuming that all the properties on the weapon would function normally but it would still do slashing/piercing damage rather than light damage unless you left wolf form but is that correct?

That's probably a question better asked in the official forums. I can only speculate too.

At cap I've always gone for rogue dilly (unless it's a rogue life, then I've stayed monk)

I've normally ended up in primal avatar, It's nice, the aura's don't fuck with your procs like they do handwraps in conventional unarmed combat.

I'm loving the haste boost from Dreadnaught now. Since I didn't need Momentum Swing I picked up Versatility IV and did Haste Boost III from LD and extra action boost III as well. Being able to pop off 2:40 of 30% haste boost/25% damage boost back-to-back is just sick. That change alone has amped up what this toon can do from decent to outstanding.

Don't know why I didn't do this the moment I switched to Voice of the Master in the trinket slot (think that was at 20 to fit in the 20 Cloak of Night) but I finally made a useful item for my heals. Cannith crafted trinket 66 devotion/major healing lore. I don't have it on all the time but when I need to boost my healing it's a single item swap to bump it up. Made another trinket with Mobility of Melee Alacrity 10%.

I figure for clearing out trash I can pop on the Mobility/Melee Alacrity. Tough fights/bosses I'll be hasted so I can afford to swap to the healing trinket. And if it's close to the end of the quest or a quest with lots of opt experience I can put the voice back on and switch to air stance for the melee alacrity. That lets me switch my gloves away from the Fabricators to PDK.

I did find out one big reason not to go kama's by the way. It applies to all flavors of this build but is only really strongly indicated at epic levels and on monk versions. Wolf form gets the additional damage die from your weapon, monk levels, reinforced fists, past life: monk, etc...but only if you use wraps. For me right now I think I'm sitting at 4[w] - 2 from monk levels, 1 from wraps (grave wrappings), 0.5 from reinforced fists, and 0.5 from LD. EE Adamantine Knuckles would be 1.5[w] more than that. Given that we're a full 2 damage more on average from our weapon (1d10 versus 1d6 for unarmed monk) that additional weapon damage adds up to a significant amount. Just right now I'm giving up 3[w] or an average of 16.5 damage per hit by switching to kamas.

As I mentioned...the significance of this feature is really in the stacking of gear (mostly in epic levels) and monk levels so for most people those kama's will do really well. At epic levels...well, I doubt I'll even craft them. Only reason I could see would be if I really needed to stack the self-healing and I manage to get the healing gloves from FoT. That would take away my 30% healing amp on gear so then having a healing amp weapon option would be a nice swap...at the cost of quite a bit of damage.

I'm starting to work out the gear for this at 25. Here's what I've come up with so far:

Helm: Black Dragon (Green/Colorless or Green/Yellow depending on difficulty)
Necklace: Con-opp sp/wizardvi or (epic) golden guile. I feel much less 'needy' when it comes to improved deception because of unbalancing strike but could still see times on bosses where a swap to GG would make sense. Slot if I make it epic would be a great spot for spell points.
Goggles: Tharnes/Yellow Slotted Deathward Blindness Ward of True Seeing
Trinket: Idol of Fortune/Upgraded Head of Good Fortune (depending on ring slot and whether I need the yellow/colorless slots on the Idol)
Robe: Black Dragon (Blue Slot)
Cloak: Earthgrab Guard GS hp item (have it made, just need cleansing stone), Level 20 Cloak of Night (would love the 24 when/if Mabar comes back)
Bracers: T3 Epic Bracers of Wind (Yellow/Colorless Slot)
Belt: T3 Epic Spare Hand (Blue/Colorless Slot)
Ring1: T3 Epic Ring of the Stalker (Yellow/Colorless Slot)
Ring2: Swap based on enemies/situation. I have Holy Burst ToD ring (the 6wis/1str one), Shocking Burst ToD ring (6str/1con), and want to get a Dun Robar ring with 10 vertigo. Given how much of my damage comes from unbalancing strike this is a high priority item and will be on most of the time. A second Dun Robar ring with 10 stunning would be very helpful as well. I could see situations where stalker would come off but they'd be few and far between as that's where we're getting our exc. sneak and our seeker.
Boots: Halcyon Boots (Yellow/Colorless Slots)
Gloves: Gauntlets of Immortality (Yellow/Colorless Slots)

Stats will obviously depend greatly on the version of the helm and dunrobar ring(s) I get but there's plenty of colorless slots here to fit in everything stat-wise. We've got 3 blue/green slots and have gear with heavy fort already so we can slot False Life, Resist, and PRR all 3. I'd consider prowess trinket but it's a tough call - it locks us into Antipodes for the bonus and it means slotting Heavy Fort somewhere else so we lose either False Life, Resist, or PRR with this gear set.

We have so many yellow/colorless slots that we can afford to slot pretty much everything in those (at least once we get the comm's to unlock them all). Honestly though we don't need much. We'll have the stats from the helm and the dun'robar ring. Halcyon covers the dex. If we find we're not swapping very often to golden guile we have 6 wisdom on our necklace. This build definitely benefits a ton from the +1 exc. to all stats trinket. We've got a lot of colorless slot but not enough to slot that many +1's as well as covering +2's/+7's in some stats. Slotting resistances besides acid would be extremely helpful as well. We don't have Toughness in our main setup so the next update will definitely help - we can slot it in a colorless slot.

As far as weapons go I could see wanting to snag a celestia regardless of how it works in form. Rebellion could be a nice one as well to pair with a healing amp kama. As I mentioned in my previous post though wraps should be our main basis with a focus on extra damage die. The EE Adamantine Knuckles slotted with some additional damage types would be great for unstunnable enemies/boss fights because of the extra 1.5[w] on them and the extra damage we can slot. Grave Wrappings would be our main option though.

I could see the argument for going a different direction than the black dragon set but in my mind this build gets SO much damage from a superior crit profile (equivalent to khopeshes) and sneak attack damage that it's hard to pass up getting as much armor pen/fort bypass as you can.

My gear right now at 22 is a bit less vaunted:
Helm: Superior False Life/Bluff +15/Kobold Haste IV bandana
Necklace: Con-opp sp/wizardvi and Golden Guile with the con-opp on almost 100% of the time.
Goggles: Tharnes/Yellow Slotted Deathblock Blindness Ward of True Seeing
Trinket: Voice/Mobility of Melee Alacrity 10%/Devotion 66 of Major Healing Lore
Robe: +8 Dex Spider Spun Caparison. Honestly this item is the only thing that gives me pause about going black dragon:  Resistance Save +6 (basically covers black's blue slot), Enhanced Ki +1, Reinforced Fists, Concentration +15,
Toughness. We're basically giving up enhanced ki, reinforced fists, concentration +15, and toughness (until it's slottable) and locking in our helm slot to black dragon (not necessarily a bad item to choose but we're stuck there) for 20% armor piercing, 3% double strike, 40 acid resist, and 5% damage boost for 30 seconds after kills. I think that's a worthwhile trade-off but I could see an argument for the caparison. Nice thing is that we could actually use both situationally as well.
Cloak: Level 20 Cloak of Night, 2 haste clicky gs items
Bracers: T3 Epic Bracers of Wind (currently slotted Feather Falling/+6 Charisma)
Belt: T3 Epic Spare Hand (currently slotted Heavy Fort/+6 Con)
Ring1: Epic Ring of the Stalker (currently slotted 30% striding with colorless empty)
Ring2: Holy Burst ToD ring (+6 wis/+1 str)
Boots: Earthgrab Guard +45 hp boots (these are cleansed)
Gloves: PDK gloves
Weapons: Grave Wrappings, a couple 2[w] banishers/smiters, level 20 epic wraps of endless night, Devout Handwraps (though I really should craft some good metalline wraps for generic dr breaking since I can cast align fang and I have a holy burst ring)

New things I learned:

  • Spider Spun Caparison is amazeballs. Seriously...you couldn't create a better item for monk itemization and not have it unbalanced. I need every single stat on this thing and I can almost never say that about good items with hard to find abilities like enhanced ki or reinforced fists. I loved it my last time in epic levels as a pure monk but you really learn to appreciate it when itemization becomes harder on a hybrid.
  • Cannith crafting may not be the end all/be all but it can certainly fill in gaps in gear really well.
  • On a wisdom-based toon with sneak attack damage that's already built for tripping unbalancing strike is phenomenal. I redid my enhancements to fit in Human Versatility IV and part of that rebuild included putting in unbalancing strike (hadn't done it before since I had just picked up Monk 6 when I stoned). I'm taking down sneak-vulnerable but stun immune enemies SO much faster now it's ridiculous.
  • I can't stress this last one enough - LD Haste Boost III + HV IV Damage Boost + Unbalancing Strike or Improved Deception = Dead Bosses. Really dead. Doing level 23 Picture Portals/Moving Targets last night to completely upgrade my epic bracer of wind and was blown away with the fights against Crystal and Rushmore. I'd wait for the water to spawn, drop it with ToD and unboosted melee, then boost while switching targets to the boss. 1 or 2 boosts and the fight was over. I'm not sure if I killed them that fast on my caster...probably did but usually I'd just stack eladrins/niacs and while it's more reliable it does take a bit longer. And dropping the other bosses was a joke - they died before 1 boost even ran out.

The new trinkets make all the difference in the world for difficult content. I now feel like I can comfortably heal through anything short of EE's. I might have to go air stance to do it in a sustainable/non-hastepot chugging fashion but I've got 9 minutes or so of haste clickies too so that's not too bad on the tougher spots where I'd still want water stance. Now that my bracer is finished I feel like I could easily cap in the current gear.

I can't work out if your gear is based around permanently having 9druid levels or not.

If it is, you should definitely be picking up kama's.

Don't make con op SP as your necklace.  Make a cha skills sp, and then swap to a con op hp necklace after your initial buffs.

I'm considering running with a 3piece abishai set (cloak, boots, gloves) since i've got healing amp covered on a full time weapon.

I've also got the bracers of wind, but that's where I'm crafting all my gs clickies.

When I do swap from the black set to sun soul set :
I equip the helm of frost, and swap my envenomed cloak for a Wolf cloak. (note, I put my GFL in my corrosion boots)

Definitely 9 druid levels for quite awhile. I plan on maxing ED's on this build, possibly getting a final monk life with this build as 9/9/2 depending on timing of the expansion and how long the ED's take, and then seeing what the expansion/enh pass brings. I'm still not sold on the kama's though (but will definitely be making some as time permits to provide another option and also to pair with Rebellion if I'm lucky enough to get it). Obviously would DEFINITELY want them if I TR again but once you start getting up into the 4[w]+ range while running wraps versus 1[w] max when running kama's (since the [w] doesn't apply when in form and not using wraps)...that's a lot of damage left on the table to get kama's.

The con-opp SP on the necklace was the best option I had at the time given what I had available gear-wise. If I get the opportunity to do so I'll make another that's con-opp hp as I agree that would work much better. I haven't shroud flagged yet this life as I'm focused on making full use of the 15% xp bonus (just TR'd Thursday night and hit 22 last night) but I'm going to be running quite a bit of shroud to get set up with some displacement clickies, probably 1 more haste clicky, another cleansing stone or two this life, and a better setup with a con-opp hp item cleansed. Necklace definitely seems like the best spot for that as a balance between leveling value and cap value. Oh, and making the kamas for leveling future lives on this build and for maxing out healing amp when needed on this life.

3-piece abishai set is nice as well. I doubt I'll ever end up with that as I'm a hater on Chrono but it would work well. You're right that having the kama's for healing amp is important regardless of the gear setup as none of the ideal gear at cap has healing amp on it. I just can't see running it full time but there are definitely situations you'd want to swap to it. I'm thinking in those situations the best weapon to pair with it would be Rebellion. Fully upgraded it's +8 Enhancement Bonus, Rebellion (ALL threat -25%, on crit 13-78 piercing), Sneak Attack Bonus +5 (nice if you don't have Tharne's), bibs-Piercing - 20% (really nice if you don't want to run black dragon bibs), Improved Deception, and a Red Augment Slot which could be slotted devotion if you don't go with the gloves. The best part about slotting devotion there is that it's then a +8 spellcasting implement giving you an additional 24 universal spell power. There are certainly other options in that red slot but given that we can offhand whatever metal kama we want and cast whatever align fang we need to beat almost every DR imaginable I can't imagine passing up on that unless we're using the Gauntlets of Immortality. Once you get those it's easy to swap to a damage-based augment.

Honestly Rebellion would be the one key item that would make me rethink the black dragon bibs. With Rebellion equipped you're then only getting a blue slot, 3% double strike, 40 acid resist, and 5% damage boost for 30 seconds after kills assuming you're using the black dragon helm.

If we're going with SS/Kama setup then we'd get nothing from the caparison's reinforced fists as well. I'm thinking in that setup you'd almost want to go Blue Dragon bibs/Helm. You'd get Major Arcane Lore, 80 potency, 15 artifact bonus to universal SP, and 40 elec resist instead of acid. I think that just edges out the double-strike and damage boost from black assuming you're getting your bibs piercing by always using Rebellion/off-hand kama (either con-opp amp or a metal-based dr-breaker).

The blue dragon set lends itself better to the 3-piece abishai set and rebellion/kama. I do really like the boots from FoT though - proc'ing 15 temp sp's would be really nice for firing off an unmeta'd Greater Vigor though 5% proc-rate isn't overly exciting. Would be really nice for lower diff's and not very attractive in EE's.

I completely agree with the wrist slot as a nice spot for swapping to GS. Nothing on the bracers of wind will kill you while you have it swapped off (well...other than that it's my featherfall slot at the moment but that's another story). I just happened to have the cloaks already crafted for my clickies.

Now, I doubt this will be my final life. I don't think this build will be particularly attractive post-enh update. That said, I'll be here quite awhile I think so definitely worth getting the gear to make it work well. And I hadn't thought about it yet but I'll be farming up a Wolf Cloak as well. Given that I'm currently running mabar cloak there (and until I have to drop my gs hp boots) I'd get a lot of use out of swapping away from mabar when appropriate. Level 20 mabar's really nice...that 5/good dr takes the sting out of non-EE hits...but running EE's the PRR from a Wolf Cloak would far outstrip that 5/good dr.

Just hit 24 now. Loving the build though not having a blast in Shiradi atm (maxed out the xp in Dreadnaught and didn't want to waste ED experience while soloing EH's).

I'm starting to wonder whether I should run part-time at least in GMoF to really amp up my stunning potential. Also considering moving quite a few AP's back to wisdom from Human Versatility IV. I don't have good epic gear for wisdom yet so I'll be getting a potential +6 to wisdom (upgrade +6 item to +8, +3 inh, +1 exc). That would push my standing Stunning Fist DC to 59 in Dreadnaught. That's plenty good enough for most EH's but doesn't cut it in EE.

Half tempted to build out an EE setup in GMoF that focuses entirely on wisdom. I love the save bonuses and the 'don't fail on a 1' from GMoF but for this purpose I'd just add in 4 points of wisdom. Between that and the inherent GMoF bonuses I'd get +5 to my stuns and trips both by running GMoF. I'm thinking that should do the job for both of their DC's and make this build very EE-friendly. I'll update things once I've tried that out.

I've now run without improved deception, with it, and spammed unbalancing strike in both modes and can give some feedback on that as well. Improved deception is basically a must. The attack rate is high enough on this build that improved deception is as much a defensive proc as offensive. Against one enemy you can keep yourself nearly untouched. I'm not sure where I'll end up slotting that - backstabber's gloves works but takes away the ability to use Abishai or Immortality. Rebellion works but I've been running wraps with A Dance of Flowers twisted...that's 5[w] damage that would drop to 1[w] with kama's equipped, a difference of dropping average base damage by 22 points from 27.5 to 5.5. Obviously base damage die isn't the only spot I'm getting damage but first-number damage isn't insanely high for me...maybe in the 45-50 average range most of time. And I can swap out my GS Con-Opp Necklace for Golden Guile and swap Mabar cloak for my GS Air Guard item to keep the same sp's. I honestly don't find myself running tight on sp's so this has been my most common approach.

I think my final decision on boosting wisdom 2 points (and having 1 extra AP to spend elsewhere) by dropping HVIV down to HVII will be based on whether I like Primal Avatar or not when I'm leveling it. As soon as I get level 3 in Shiradi I'll be giving that a go.

Here's an extreme version of that tree

Basically we take the pre-req's for EiN and building up to EiN (all the petals), the pre-req for 3% double-strike (0.5[w] damage), and we get 6% total dodge along with +5 wisdom. If you don't need the last point of wisdom you could add 1 more [w] in its place or 10% armor piercing, though on this build we're really aiming for trash...the [w] would be more useful. If you know that one save or another will be critical in what you're going to run a lot you could spend 3 points to get that to the no-fail on a 1 status...I'm just not sure the base build's saves are high enough to get there anyway. Maybe with the right twists but even that's pushing it.

Just xp capped it. Think I'll take a break from xp now to flag for Shroud, probably DQ, and maybe Abbot. Then just hit up any rusted blades farms when I feel like tuning in and turning off for a bit.

Cocoon is pretty much the only healing I need in non-EE now. It's really crazy good at 70'ish a tick even in bad healing gear for 12 sp's. I typically just hit it every time I see temp sp's proc now just so I can ignore my life other than that habit. I'm still really unsure what to do with the gear but I'll probably gear more based on what decides to drop than based on any best setup.

I'm kind of thinking that Warforged could be highly effective with the 9 druid/9 monk/2 fighter version of this build. Obviously we give up the dilettante which in my case means giving up 10.5 damage per sneak attack on average. We gain for the same amount of AP +2 to all tactics (and +3 for 6 more AP). We do lose 2-3 wisdom so the net effect on tactics would be +0.5 or +1.5. In addition we gain 25% fortification and the ability to leave form to get reconstructed and be immune to negative levels.

The big drawback to being a forged though - the loss of healing amp - goes away in wolf form. We get the best of both worlds...getting recon'd if we need to but having full healing amp most of the time.

tl;dr
Warforged 9 druid/9 monk/2 fighter
Pro's
Tactics line
+25% fortification
+2 to 3 con
Can be reconstructed/neg level immune when desired
Can use docents

Con's
-2 to 3 wisdom
-10.5 sneak damage on average
Can't use any robes you've saved up

Post-enhancement Pass

I think this gets even more interesting with what Warforged have coming in the enhancement pass. Being in wolf form will allow you to mitigate healing penalties for free. That frees up points to do things like +3 tactics, +3 power attack damage, +3 will saves, and +3 fort saves. I think that works out where you would have enough points spent to get 75% extra fort and +1 con for a relatively small investment of AP (about 15 overall).

It's the fort that really does it for me on that build. I basically have Brace for Impact locked into a twist for EE's. 125% isn't enough and would require me swapping to sub-optimal gear. 140% still sees the occasional crit sneak in. 175% though is outstanding. That should protect from crits in all but the nastiest of situations and we can still twist in Brace for Impact in those cases.

Ok, crazy update to this. I was planning on going Monkcher next life for my final monk life because I want to fit in some ranger lives and then paladin lives with a strong range component. Started collecting bows, got a pinion, etc...and found that I wanted to try it out before I TR'd and wasted time on something I didn't like.

So to that end, I LR'd this 9 monk/9 druid/2 fighter. I dropped all meta's (max/emp heal/quicken), all 3 natural fighting feats, and stunning fist to pick up mental toughness, pbs, rapid shot, wf: ranged, bow strength, zen archery, and manyshot. I also swapped improved crit: bludgeoning for improved crit: ranged. I debated between getting 1 more dex (cost of 2 build points or 1 level-up point), dumping cleave/great cleave/overwhelming critical and picking up precise shot/improved precise shot and either going back to stunning fist or possibly empower healing. I didn't end up going that route and so far I'd say it just depends. When I'm running EH's I'll often go to winter wolf form to cleave spam on big groups. It's far more efficient than archery against groups of mobs. That said, improved precise shot + good positioning might be able to accomplish the same thing and add in archer's focus to boot. Looking forward to my next life where IPS is a given and not a large sacrifice.

Probably people who's main focus is 1-20, get epic tokens and do 1-20 again.
