My problem with mouselook is that it gives me vertigo and migraines...note, this may be why I'm a 894579745th tier player instead of a 1st tier, but I can't really play if I'm having to throw up every few minutes...

Angry

I get headaches and nausea from it, kind of like being carsick. Not fun.

It's fun, it's free, and the download size isn't horrid. Nothing to lose by trying it I would say.

On the other hand if it's red for you, chances are that you have a companion that could use it, which means you can actually use it.

Companions can't use gear though, only runestones Huh

Dragon is the new Khyber.
There are stragglers elsewhere, but most of us ended up on Dragon without any coordination to speak of.
I assume that most of the DnD players simply saw the word dragon and clicked it on instinct.

I actually clicked on dragon since I read somewhere on the forums that one of the other shards is going to be the 'unofficial RP shard', and I couldn't remember if it was beholder or mindflayer, so to dragon we go Cheesy

Looks like it's more than Khyber... As far as I can tell it's also where the people I know from G-Land are setting up shop.

I believe Dragon is also the unofficial Euro server.

I have 2 on dragon and 1 on mindflayer. I built a drow rogue on mindflayer and it's a lot of fun. I'll probably be there this weekend unless there are a bunch of people looking to run on dragon.

Yes they can.  They just get select slots instead of an entire gear set.
Look at your companion sheet again.

I can't figure out what the screeny hotkey is or I'd show you.
Companions get three gears slots, on the right opposite the runestone slots.  The second gets unlocked at companion level 15, the third gets unlocked at level 25.
My Cleric has icon/neck/ring
My hawk has neck/ring/neck
My dog has neck/neck/ring
They can even equip gear that is still level locked by you.  My hawk and my dog are both wearing a necklace that I wouldn't personally be able to equip because of level restrictions.
So it looks like everyone gets necklace and ring, while animals get another necklace and humanoids get a different variable piece probably class related.

Ah, true, looked at it more closely

But, companions can only level to 15 atm (at least, the non-real money ones) so it's still not going to get you popularity points when you roll on stuff that's red for you and explain it with "I need it for my companion"  Cheesy

Also, once you cap companions are almost completely useless, other than the cat and the ioun stone(s), which are the ones that give passive bonuses to you. Cleric hirelings are somewhat useful if you want to save a few pots in clericless runs but meh, the content that people are actually willing to run without a cleric is so easy it doesn't matter that much anyway

I am of the opinion that if it's red you should Pass or Greed it.  Never roll Need on a red.   You'll loot something for your shitty companion to wear soon enough, douchebag.  Leave it for someone that can actually use it.

I have a drow rogue on beholder i believe. Drow rogues are gods among the others. I literally went afk at the start of a dungeon and missed the first few fights. I caught up at the 1st miniboss. By the end of the dungeon, I still creamed everyone on the DPS charts. Rogues are the best. THE BEST.

Hey folks,

How do you heal on folk in your party? I've been adopting the burst in range strategy as I can't bloody figure it out. I know you can do it if you have the person in your reticule but trying to get MMO players to stay still ain't happening and I'm not chasing them.

Is there any way to cycle through or manually target your party? Tab targetting isn't happening...

Never mind, answered my own question:

http://nw-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?50801-A-system-for-targeting-par...

Guess it's continue with the "no single target heals for you unless you come and ask or stand still in front of me" approach Smiley

It's mostly DoT heals and they're mostly not targeted on players, rather areas and mobs that then give health when people hit them. I'll have to buy more slots and roll up a cleric because it seems more fun than healing in any other mmo Cheesy

Oh and because right now 2 clerics with stacking astral shields can't die in epics Cheesy

Be ready for tanking tho tere, from what I've read and seen any sort of healing, or basically any sort of action the cleric takes at all, pretty much instantly aggroes any and all trash that spawns, and in dungeons there's shit tons of trash spawning every 10-15 secs Grin

Yeah, cleric is fun and "healing" in this game is usually more about using your abilities on mobs than it is about targeting specific players for heals.  But I totally agree that the aggro I've seen a cleric build a couple of times seems pretty fucking ridiculous when you look at their damage output at the end of the run.
Dead fucking last, but running for their lives at times.
Healing certainly builds a lot more hate than you're going to be used to.

Ah, that explains why I have all these monsters trying to eat my face off all the bloody time.

Works quite well with the derpdog, it nibbles away at their hamstrings but it is somewhat ouchy. I got lamped by the end guy in the Clock Tower the first time through.

guess I'm going to have to buy some of the threat reduction stuff!

This is also how you spot a decent wizard player in a pug.
He's the one that has the most tools to help alleviate the pressure on the cleric, and those tools are mostly useless on a boss.  He should be using them to keep the cleric safe.
