For me, loot is what draws me to the game. Now, all the loot is the same.
How do you make the game last? You need to attract new players to replace those that leave.
How can a new player possibly equip themselves with this junk?
When was the last time you found a pure seeker item?
When was the last time you found a pure accuracy item?
When was the last time you found a pure deadly item?
When was the last time you found a pure dodge item?
When was the last time you found a pure fortified item?
EVERY DAY.
Seriously, a new player does not need any of that junk. I am on a new server and I don't use any of it. I deconstruct all level 7 jewelry and clothing items that do not help my characteristics(Strength, Constitution, etc) or my armor class.
Answer these questions
For me, these items actually helped me in the game.
When was the last time you found a pure UW action item?
When was the last time you found a pure Disabling item?
When was the last time you found a pure Escape item?
When was the last time you found a pure Minute Seeing item?
When was the last time you found a pure haggle item?
When was the last time you found a pure springing item?
When was the last time you saw a Heroism Clickie?
When was the last time you saw a Remove (Disease, Curse, Blindness, Fear) Clickie?
When was the last time you saw a lesser restoration clickie?
There is a preponderance of Feather Fall and wizardry items though.
All armor is the exact same. RETRIBUTIVE
All weapons are the exact same RIPOSTE, DECEPTION, GHOST BANE, RAPID STRIKE, RAPID SHOT
You want a +5 weapon for a level 8? Those don't exist anymore.
You want +5 armor for a level 8? That does not exist anymore.
There must be a lot of undead because all the bane weapons now are GHOST BANE.
Just check the weapon brokers and the armor brokers to see the lack of variety in the game.
No other BANE weapons exist.
Do you like rapid strike and rapid shot? Great, every 100 swings they might happen. Don't let the word RAPID fool you. It actually is supposed to be the word RARELY.
Casters are still happy because the corrosion, combustion, devotion, etc items still exist.
In my opinion rogue and artificers are screwed.
Fighter types are screwed.
