A guy in one of the user-chat rooms I am in swears up and down that when you TR into an Iconic, it is fastest to only level to 3, do all lvl 1 quests on elite, lvl to 4, do all lvl 2 quests on elite and continue.  He says you hit lv 20 XP at approx lv 10.

When you TR into an Iconic, you start at level 15. So no, it isn't true.

You have the XP for lvl 15, but have nothing forcing you to take all 15 levels at that time.

Doesn't it count as blue barred xp though, preventing you from gaining xp till you're level 14.

The quick once and dones + favor would definately make it an attractive option if it works though.

He is saying that you still gain XP as normal.  Blue bars or not..  I was wondering if anyone else had tried it.

TR2 Lvl15 xp: 2,100,000
Lvl20 xp: 3,800,000

Lvl10 xp: 800,000
Lvl14 xp: 1,800,000
Lvl3 xp: 32,000

Feel free to do the math...

You almost have to be at lvl 14 for the xp to add up right. If you think you can level from 1-14 faster than 15-20 then sure. Otherwise no.

Stopping at 14 still sounds like a good idea, depending how you like to grab your lvl 16-20 xp.

Yeah, I'm going to try and do this next life.

But honestly, there wasn't a problem getting to level 20.  Everything flew on by.

This is ideal.  There are many options in the level 12 range to allow one to save up a level.  Since I prefer to hit heroic cap in the Vale (fast content that's easy to form groups for) this is the method I use when doing an iconic life.

They are pulling your leg. Doesn't work. Get to lvl 14 run level 12 stuff on Elite and start working up from there. The only way to get more XP while capped is from the Monster Manual or XP stones. Which is nice if a fresh TR and lvl 4 before even running a quest  Grin

not entirely true.. using various methods.. one can iconic TR, take level 12/14/15 use a 8-16 stone, with appropriate xp buffs, and essentially never take level 15+ until you heroic cap.. i have done it, ask Kitteh shes still confuzzled on the exact details of it, but it is possible. just gotta have a few extra tools to do it.. (was level 13 with them, and by level 15 i was capped out heroicly)

I would love to spread this myth but it would be too cruel so I will rely on others and just read about the consequences.

I don't know where half these people get this misinformation from but I get the feeling it starts with 2 friends talking about, "wouldn't it be cool if..." and a pug that tries to be clever.

Or the pug is trying to troll, which is an amusing attempt Smiley

Dice roll stones carry xp over even if past lv cap of 28. So you can be at lv 30 before new level cap hits.

You're welcome.
